AKA: The Circuit![]() IMDB Blurb: Two groups of people discover evidence that suggests spirits may be trying to invade the human world through the Internet. ooh gorl, if y'all thought The Babadook & Lights Out were about depression, y'all ain't seen nothing yet Now, while I don't this is perfect like some ppl seem 2 (it's a bit 2 long, some of the CGI is a bit 2 distracting, & tonally, while I felt what Kurosawa was going 4, the ending just feels a lil misplaced), this more or less dismantled any need 4 any further #TechnoHorrorâ„¢ 2 ever exist, so, 4 all u Unfriendeds & Paranormal Activities out there, I hope ur happy, ur irrelevant Like, srsly, this bitch was SO. ahead of its fucking time even The Ring & The Blair Witch Project got whiplash becuz, despite the dated aesthetic, it deals w/ such an inventive premise that can easily be just as relevant 2day (if not more so) w/ more updated technology (i.e. y any ideas of a remake were doomed from their conception...) & the thrills r handled in such a casual, understated, anticipatory manner that u'll be sitting there shitting urself waiting 4 something 2 happen while simultaneously already being scared by w/e is onscreen thnx 2 the power of suggestion + an unsettling use of old ass comp sounds in the score (think: if David Lynch made a movie about the internet instead of about small town/Hollywood tropes), so, don't expect no jumpscares up in this bitch! W/ all that being said, however, I also don't think this is like...the scariest movie ever made or something like that, I'd still say the 2nd 1/2 of The Shining is scarier (which is only relevant becuz I rated both of these 9/10), but I do think this is more disturbing in that Lynchian "ur gonna think about this thing later & WANNA DIE!" kinda way, so, have fun, ladies!
