![]() IMDB Blurb: A close-knit trio navigates the idea of creating life, while at the same time being confronted with a brutal scenario. Alright, so, me watching this movie 4 Day 5 of my 2nd annual #30DaysOfGay Pride month celebration is kind of a perfect representation of how shit of a day 2day was becuz it was so inconceivably poorly executed that I don't rly have a clue as 2 what it was trying 2 say. Granted, had I done my research, I woulda already figured this out (& the fact that the trailer does a better job of conveying what the movie's going 4 than the movie itself does), the man behind this made 2013's shitty ass Magic Magic I got duped in2 watching just cuz Juno Temple was in it & he's done it 2 me again by casting Kristen Wiig in something w/ a poster that looks more indicative of Baby Mama than It Comes At Night, which is what this ultimately felt like it shared more similarities w/. Becuz, overall, that's what this film is, a horror film disguised very heavily as a New York hipster satirical dramedy, but any1 who even has a rudimentary knowledge of foreshadowing knows the direction it's headed in. But, ya'know, the direction this goes in isn't what pisses me off so much like seemingly every1 else (cuz, ya'know, I have EYES & could tell where it was going), it's the fact that it hides behind so much of it's supposed "text" & all these "quirky" pretentious characteristics of its hipster protags that it blows its foot off w/ a shotgun almost immediately (kinda like if You're Next marketed itself exclusively as a comedy when it's still a horror film @ heart, regardless of the satirical element). It's 2 much of a spineless shit of a movie 2 commit 2 being what it truly is, but I'm not gonna let it get away w/ that.
