All tea, I was gonna give Annabelle a 2/10 even tho the doll was LITERALLY irrelevant 2 the entire story of w/e fucking demon it is the writer barely tried 2 make us give a fuck about cuz the camerawork was pretty good 4 something as unanimously trashed as this & it was entertainingly shitty, not as much as The Bye Bye Man, but I was still cackling 4 a good portion of this, so, ya'know, I was living 4 a bit, but THEN that bullshit ending happened & it IMMEDIATELY dropped down 2 just .5/10, I don't play them racist games, y'all, fuck whoever wrote that shit & fuck Miss Annabelle 2 hell. :lolfucku:

As 4 Creation, I mean...it was WRITTEN by the same shitty ass motherfucker who wrote Annabelle, so, idk what 2 tell u when the story itself is already fundamentally flawed instead of being completely revamped like in the case of Ouija: Origin of Evil, just becuz David F. Sandberg does what he can 2 elevate the sin against mankind that is that writer (since Sandberg actually knows what he's doing) & just becuz he got better actors 2 occupy this world than the motherfucker than directed the 1st don't rly mean dick @ the end of the day becuz it's STILL. just about this irrelevant ass demon no1 gives a fuck about instead of about the damn doll, so, good 4 her getting a 4/10 this time instead of a .5, but it still don't mean much. :timetodie:

4 haunted ass, bitch ass dolls & shit, I'd rather watch Dead Silence & 4 anything by David F. Sandberg, I'd rather watch Lights Out again (which, I think I'll do soon). :letsnot:

*Edit: I was actually gonna watch Lights Out 2day & post this after I watched that until the news broke about Tobe Hooper, so, I decided against watching anything else other than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre later on in his honor. :sadga:

I told you not to watch it, Annabelle is the fucking worst. I'd rather watch Lights Out than TCM.

Be that as it may, I still nearly choked 2 death watching Annabelle up until that shitty ass ending & if the mom in the movie was the 1 that hopped her happy ass out the window instead, it woulda still got 2 stars cuz I woulda literally pissed myself @ that point, it's just that ending robbed all the cheesy potential it had built up the entire time. :smh:

It almost makes me wish that Creation brought the same director back so he could snatch a plethora of shitty ass actors 2 deliver the garbage lines again cuz the ending, while shitty, isn't OFFENSIVELY bad, like in Annabelle's case. The opening STILL had me weak, tho, cuz this little bitch str8 up got PLOWED by a damn car outta fucking nowhere like that dumb heaux of a protag in Insidious: Chapter 3, so I couldn't stop thinking REST.IN.FUCKING.PIECES. 4 a good 10 or 15 mins after it fucking happened, like, that's some comedy gold right there. :rifp:

This level of disrespect on Hooper's name on the day he died, tho... :kandysemccant:

I made a big fucking mistake watching The Conjuring by myself in absolute darkness, the damn back speakers had me looking over my shoulder constantly. :imfine:

As for the movie it is still a remarkably well made horror film that excels by not trying to reinvent the genre. This is by far Wan's most impressive work, showing great care and skill in bringing this story to life. Two things stood out for me this time: first the tracking shot that introduces the Perron family that then transitions to a beautiful zoom on the youngest daughter by the tree outside and second the close up on the music box that fakes you into expecting a cheap jump scare right at the end. Sure this has problems like the random ass scenes with the daughter and a very slight dip in quality when the Warrens set up the house with cameras and shit, but there's way too much good here for those minor things to have much impact on the film's overall quality.

I still haven't seen this since 2013, but I don't have unfavorable memories w/ it like I do w/ me only liking Dead Silence cuz it's a total fucking mess (& has a better aesthetic over some of his more #StyleOverSubstance films :annamom: ) :lolihatemylife:

I watched The Conjuring 2 earlier today and I really like it less each time I see it while I feel like the first one which I've seen more still holds up every time. I talked about this the first time I watched it, but it really can't be ignored how similar the structure of the movie is to the first which makes watching these back to back undesirable (yet I did it again anyway :lolxd: ). So you can't avoid comparing the two and this one easily loses in every comparison you make: the acting is worse, the characters aren't as memorable, the story isn't as tight, and for some reason it's 20 minutes longer. But the thing is this is still a better made horror film than 95% of what comes out now and it only feels so bad to me because I'm watching these so close together because the one time I saw this without going back to back I liked it more. The Nun is still really fuckin creepy and the Crooked Man has actually grown on me, his little bit in the finale was a great jolt before the final confrontation. It's good as long as you watch it without seeing The Conjuring first.

That... is a pretty damning bit of shade. :thatscold:

I thought this was almost as good as the first, but I only saw it once in theaters, so there's that.

I'm just gonna accept this as ur admission that it's a piece of shit becuz it doesn't deserve pointers just becuz nearly everything coming out around it is infinitely worse. :sallysip: That's like saying, "Hey, Carrie 2013 is better than Carrie 1976, just don't watch the OG 1st 2 c how much it copies it & how much more infinitely worse it is." :mhmok:

It's still a very well made movie, but when you compare it to the original it sucks.
