They gonna have 2 do a little better than hoping 4 luck after the mess that was 3. Like, I notoriously don't like these movies, but even Ik that 3 was some fuck shit compared 2 1/2. But I @ least think this has a better chance w/ the director of The Taking of Deborah Logan @ the helm instead of Leigh Whannell's 1 film under his belt having ass. :thethirstisreal:

Even tho this series is still overrated as all hell, I honest expect a little better than the mess this is turning out 2 be becuz even shitty ass Chapter III's trailer looked better than this garbage. This doesn't even even look like it even has the same aesthetic of the others & the trailer just ENDED. outta nowhere w/out any sorta structure keeping her ass up. Like, how y'all gonna come out & disappoint a bitch w/out any hope 4 this series 2 begin w/???

Watched the first one earlier today too for the first time in quite a while because I had completely forgotten that they had 3 kids. :cackle:

I still like this, but not as much as I used to. It's still really fun/scary especially for a pg-13 horror, but it's got some major problems. Mainly the same thing that plagues most of Whannell's work, a complete inability to make the first act entertaining or as engaging as the subsequent acts are. Here the family is introduced and some incidents happen, but it's really slow moving and more drawn out than it needs to be which leads to a ton of exposition once Lin Shaye and her sidekicks show up to save the movie. It's amazing what Wan can do with a pg-13 rating, he unlike almost every other director, manages to make this as scary as any other horror movie released now. He does employ a decent amount of jump scares, but since he doesn't make them cheap it's not an issue. They only happen when something is really happening and he uses it to enhance the scare. Also I realized when watching this that they repurposed the first house into the Amityville house for The Conjuring 2.
