Updates For everyone that has made a character here on Threads of Fate, I wish to inform you that there has been a drastic change in how character abilities work. No longer are there Classes or Signature Attacks on the board, just whatever you put under Skills. This means your character can basically have whatever powers you wish, so long as they aren't over powered and match whatever your character's Spiritual Class is. Also, this means that the 'Class' section of the character sheet has been removed, meaning you'll have to edit your Character Sheet and remove that section and your Signature Attack section as well. Also, I have added a 'Nationality' listing under the Character Sheet, so you will need to add that as well. -DiamondDust |

Hello all! If you're just joining us here at Threads of Fate, then I want to welcome you to what I hope will become one of the biggest and best Yu Yu Hakusho RPG's on the net! This is the Plot of the board and hopefully what everyone will be up too! It takes place right before the Dark Tournament, where Toguro pretty much forced Team Urameshi into the fray. So, what's the twist? You! That's right, here on Threads of Fate, you are potentially able to change fate by creating your own character, forming a team, and joining the Dark Tournament in hopes of capturing the glory! But what if you don't want to go that route and instead help Team Urameshi or Team Toguro take home the gold? Only you guys can determine how the Dark Tournament comes to its climatic conclusion! You must train your character(s) until they are the best they can be! Can you stop Toguro before its too late? Or will you choose to do away with Team Urameshi instead? It's all up to you, so get cracking! Okay, and...*drum roll*...Here's the Plot! It was the beginning of Genkai's Martial Arts Tournament to determine her next successor and the one that would inherit her Reihado-ken. Many had tried to claim the title of 'Champion', though most were defeated or rejected long before they had the chance. The trials and opponents the competetors faced were surreal. How could anyone hope to survive this, let alone the legendary Genkai's harsh training? One individual proved all the skeptics wrong by winning the tournament and defeating the demon Rando while doing it. Rando, a powerful demon long feared and known for stealing the powers of physics all over the world, had come to Genkai in an attempt to do the same to her. A young Spirit Detective by the name of Yusuke Urameshi put a stop that, however, by defeating him in a grueling battle. As a result, he was crowned the winner of the tournament...and Genkai's next pupil by default. Although there was some resistance, Yusuke eventually accepted the terms. It was the end of the Genkai Tournament. Koenma, son of Lord Enma and the leader of Spirit World, had watched the whole tournament and let out a sigh of relief once he saw that he hand picked Spirit Detective had prevailed after all. He had been beginning to wonder if he had made a mistake in picking Yusuke Urameshi in particular, but was glad to see himself proven wrong...somewhat at least. Yusuke's victory had mostly been a fluke with one of Rando's techniques backfiring on him, ensuring his defeat. Still, despite the triumph something still bothered Koenma. At the same time, the date for the Dark Tournament just so happened to be approaching. Yes, the Dark Tournament, an event where demons fought and slaughtered each other for sport, a 'business event' he had been trying to outlaw for years now. It was nothing more than an excuse for demons to watch their brethern rip each other apart match after match until one team was left standing, sponsored by none other than the notorious Black Black Club. That team recieved a prize, a reward for making it so far. The commite in charge of the Dark Tournament granted whatever wish the team wanted. And so each year, a teams composed of exactly five fighters would join in this blood bath. This year would be different, however. Koenma was assured that he was going to put a stop to this senseless violence this time around. His Spirit Detective had already run into a man by the name of 'Toguro' a ruthless and well known demon in the underworld. Toguro had already threated Yusuke Urameshi and his friends to join the tournament, as the alternative was a swift death. With Yusuke unable to combat Toguro at the moment because of their power difference, Koenma had no choice but to sit back and allow Yusuke and his comerades to entire this dangerous venue. The odds on them winning were bleak at best and it in an environment like that, Koenma wondered if they would be eaten alive. It was clear that in order to stop this Dark Tournament, Toguro and its tainted committe would have been taken care of. But, would Yusuke and his team be able to do it alone? Koenma mulled the prospect over and over again in his mind, unable to think or do anything else in the meanwhile. After some time, he came to the conclusion that it just wasn't enough. He couldn't put something like this hands of a single Spirit Detective. Koenma rounded up his ogres in a hurry and informed them of one thing. "Gentlemen. Given the recent light of this situation and how desperate things have become, I'm giving you all the Green Light to find us a new batch of Spirit Detectives amoung the humans in the Human World. Get me info on the strongest, most spirtually aware individuals you can find." This was unprecidented. The ogres couldn't believe what they were hearing. Never before had the Spirit World ordered for more Spirit Detectives in its long existence. They had always relied on a few, but now Koenma was instructing them to find dozens...no, hundreds. It was clear he wasn't taking any chances here. He wanted Toguro and the rest of the scum at the Dark Tournament taken care of once in for all. He didn't want to involve innocent lives in a blood bath such as this, but what choice did he have? Spirit World's own resources were rather limited at the moment, after all. If he was going to do this, he would need all the help he could get. He could feel a recent influx of spiritual energy coming from the town of Kaidan in the Human World and other cities and towns around it, a disturbance that was too noticeable to be a coincidence. These locations was where he would get his fresh batch of Spirit Detectives. Nodding, he began to mumble to himself. "These new Spirit Detectives...no, these spiritually aware humans. They'll have to form a team of their own and enter the Dark Tournament. If Team Urameshi can't pull this off, I'll have to rely on them." It was a risky gambit, to say the least... But unbenknowst to Koenma, it wasn't just a sudden surge of spirtually proficent humans that would factor into this latest tournament. The strange and mysterious energy causing all this was also having an effect on some of the demons from the Demon Realm also. Even now, they were slowly seeping their way into the Human World, unbeknownst to its population. They too had something to gain by joining the Dark Tournament. Some were simply after their greatest wish, others were after the thrill of the fight, and some just wanted the satisfaction of a fresh kill. Whatever their reasons, they were beginning to gather like locus all around Japan, in the direction of Hanging Neck Island. What could have been the cause of all this? And how would these demons determine the outcome of the tournament? It appeared that none of the answers to this mess would be sorted out anytime soon... |
