Happy New Year, guys! I hope you all got safely into 2011 with all fingers and eyes intact! This year should be a good one for Tkana, I hope to attract more members and keep you loyal guys here too, so I'll try to think up exciting plots and the like. There's already a few plots coming up, so keep an eye out for them! Other than that, I see a lot of sites that have "Shops". You save up gold by posting, and I could give out gold for things like making banners and finding places to advertise. Then the shop would have flits and maybe even the option of buying certain colours of transfer riders/hatchlings (like gold, amethyst, black). Of course, if we decide not to have a shop, I'll be handing out flits when I feel like it, and I'll make sure that there'll be some of the rarer colours at future Hatchings - but then it'll be based on activity and the character. Of course, marks will be based on activity, too. |

Coming from someone who's running a shop, it's a lot of time and energy, in which most of it goes to fair pricing. It's probably harder with Harry Potter things, of course, but there'd still be a lot of time and energy involved. Not to mention regulations. But the upside is, it encourages people to post more, especially if it's towards a goal. So, really I'm indifferent. |

You have a very valid point, Kathlyyn. But if that's what the Weyr wants, I'll just have to find the time to price and run the shop. I'm expecting the things in there to be pretty pricy anyway. xDI'm hoping I can come to you for advice if needed, though?

Hm...if you really think it'll boost activity, then go for it. But personally I like the idea or giving things out based entirely on the character better, at least for dragon colors. Selling flits I can see no problem with, though. xD |

Me too, Annie. And I wouldn't allow for boys riding golds or anything, and you most likely won't be able to buy hatching colors ('cause I'll be pricing those pretty steep) - mostly transfer riders. I don't like having to give a certain color at a Hatching, heh. |

I really like the idea of you deciding who should get rarer colors. I would be open to the idea of buying flits, but I think the rarer colors should be left up to you. That way it's more rewarding to the person that actually gets one.

I don't know how much my opinion goes anymore, but here's my two cents. I agree with everyone really. A shop would need a lot of time and energy, but I think if Lily has the support of the Weyr, she would have the ability to turn to anyone and ask for help. I really don't think there is a person on the site, who wouldn't help Lily. Selling the flits would be great, but I agree with Carmen, we shouldn't be able to buy certain colors from you for a Hatchling, that is what the Colors preferred and Colors not wanted parts are for on the Character application. I hope this helps, Lily. |

I'm happy with all your inputs. ![]() I think it's possible to close the topic now. After having listened to you and looked at the poll, I have decided that it will be possible to buy flits in the shop. It seems that most of you are worried about losing the Impression aspect, and I agree - therefore it won't be possible to buy dragon colors in the shop. ![]() I'll of course try to think of more stuff to put in the shop, and I'd love inputs! |
