A few days after the Flight, Weyrwoman Ranea entered the room next to her personal cave: The council room. She sat down in the new seat at the end of the table and smiled. Then she felt a stroke of Ky's mind. She was out with Craibth again - like nobody knew what they were doing. >Kyriniath, would you please focus long enough to ask Craibth to tell B'naf to get over here. Let him get over here, before you call the others.< [Oh, little one. Stop fooling yourself and stop trying to pretend to be able to do anything. No Rider expects you to do anything else than stay in your private cave, when I'm out with Craibth.] >Can't lay in bed alone all day.< [Then tell him to come over.] >I have pride.< [Pride is overrated.] Ranea could feel her dragon sigh. Then Kyriniath continued talking to Craibth: [Would you please ask your ignorant bonded male to get his butt over to my Rider?] She carefully didn't specify which room. Maybe B'naf would have less pride. |

((heh. Nice to be included in the secret council meeting. ^^)) Not long after the message had begun being relayed from dagon to dragon the messages reached Narrk'th who quickly relayed the following message. <[There's a meeting. The weyrwomen wants all bronze and brown riders. Little one, that meens good news.]> With a small half smille, slighty miffled that he was probly one of the last to know about the meeting, J'kar set out towards the private caves. His thick weyrhide bots making soft thudding sounds as he padded down the stone halls. Upon entering the private tunnles J'kar haulted, he still wasn't sure what cave he was supposed to go to. Suppose he turned up at the wrong cave, oh B'naf would get a kick out of that. With an inward pant of jelously and Crabth's succesfull flight of the queen he promptly turned to his bounded, after all the small comfort of knowing that Narrk'th was also jelous of the bronze, having dropped out much to soon, brought the rider a small feeling that the world wasn't aganist him. Glancing about at the doors he glimpsted a small crack of light filltering through the door next to the weyrwomens chambers, smirking and hoping B'naf made the blunder of entering the wrong room J'kar entered the room. Bowing deeply to the weyrwomen he smilled and said lightly,"It appears that I am the first to arrive." A touch of antigonistic jelously towards B'naf in his voice, promptly grabbing a seat, the one dirrectly right from the weyrwomen, leaving the lefthand seat for B;naf, a minor yet dirrect insult to B'naf's status. Waiting for the others he knew might take awhille so he started inspecting the room, noting each subtle detail into his mind, his sceaming and slightly minocal nature allready wondering what his next move would be... |

Ranea raised a brow. >Tell your lover to keep his mouth shut. Or keep your own shut. I wanted B'naf to get here first.< [Oh, at our love for the first shell, you don't like him anyway. Or at least you pretend not to do.] >Doesn't matter. Who told everybody else?< [I'm not telling.] Ranea then turned her attention towards the Rider. "J'kar..." She took a deep breath and continued politely. Every bronze Rider would be tough to deal with for at least a sevenday. "That seat belongs to the Weyrleader. We all know that. Please move before anybody else gets here, so I won't have to scold you infront of anybody. I don't want to see my Weyrleader humiliated already." Or ever at all, she thought with a sting of desire in her heart. She missed him, which was quite unlike her. Ranea wasn't the type getting worked up over a guy. Yes, she had had her share of boyfriends during the first period after her Weyrling training. But nothing had ever felt quite like this. Luckily, it would probably pass soon. [*giggle*] Then Rubin entered and landed on Ranea's shoulder, why she could pretend that she hadn't heard Kyriniath. |

((Darn, ^^ I like subtlely insulting people, you'll find that out about me)) With a sly glance he simply got up and move across the table, resting his feet on B'naf's chair. He would still attagonize the weyrleader, some way or another. Perhappes studying the ancient culture ans history book as a weyechild had paid off, perhapes he could indeadfind some subtle way of getting under B'naf's skin. Soulfull brown eyes glanced up at the weyrwomen, "I'm sorry, I didn't know." He said in a mockly sorry voice, the tad bit of sympatly that he did have for B'naf showing in his voice. "Where is B'naf anyways, should not have the Weyrleader been hear first." He asked flatly, lindering slightly on the word weyrleader as if it left a bad taste in his mouth. Smilling lightly he waited for the others, not doubting this meeting would end with somebody not happy. "Shall I go fetch B'naf myself?" J'kar asked with mock distress that he had not arrived yet, as it appears his dragon is, 'preoocoupied' at the moment." He asked linger on peroccupied for a moment as if this was move inportant that what ever he was doing at the moment was. <[Be carefull little one, you knoiw that B'naf is weyrleader not and you should listen to him. It's tradition. You know that. I know that. We all know that.]> Narrk'th warned his lightly, for he to had a distaste for the overly caveriler bronze rider. |

((Oh, and by the way...it's not a secret council meeting, but including all the NPCs there would be crowded if all Riders were invited. xP)) Ranea looked a bit troubled, but quickly decided to give up on the brown Rider. He was obviously going to be trouble. B'naf could put him in place by himself - she wouldn't want to seem like his mother. "Yes, he should. But Craibth is - as you say - preoccupied with my Kyriniath. But she's obviously not occupied enough, since she decides to gossip. He was actually called in before the rest of you. I told her not to tell any other dragon before he got here." She leaned against the table. And yes, you're welcome to go find him. He might not even have heard it from Craibth yet. I wish Kyriniath would give Craibth some space." [I heard that! I AM giving him space...he just wants me more than space.] >I don't care about that, my love. I know all about what the two of you are doing, as does the rest of the Weyr. Just clutch us a nice queen and some bronzes.< Ignoring the part about the clutching, Ky commented: [And everybody knows what you and that Weyrleader of yours should be doing.] >Well, because of your gossip, we won't get a chance!< [So you DO find interest in him.] "Actually, I think I'll let Rubin find him instead," she continued out loud to J'kar. "Fly, my love." *picture of Craibth* "No. Rider." *picture of B'naf* "Exactly. Fly, Rubin." And quickly the little green took off from her shoulder, flying for a moment before disappearing between. |

((I like secret council meeting better then council meeting. Seems more. Interesting)) Shrugging his shoulders he let the green flit fly out the door. "Allrighty then, I assume that I should just wait he and be good then." J'kar asked with a slight snort at the idea, he was never the goodie-goodie type. With that J'kar began to humm a catchy little harpers ballad, one signifiy waiting often brings rewards... |

[Meeting...now.] Taviath said, looking at his rider with swirling green eyes. he had gotten over the flight, just like his rider. M'helan was dressed rather nicely today; being he was wearing his nice set of riding boots which were black, his white tunic with gold trimming, and his black trousers. His dark brown hair was shaggy and his eyes bright with waking up early. M'helan looked to the hallway leading out onto the weyrledge, where he knew his dragon was awaiting him. He headed down the short hallway which was curtained at the beginning, where his room was. He pushed the curtain aside and took a few more steps until his eyes were blinded by Rukabat's rays. He smiled, showing a set of white teeth that were straight, thank Faranath. M'helan set a hand on his bronze's neck and Taviath said, [What are you waiting for? Hurry it up!] M'helan scoffed, >I'll take my time.< [Shove it and get on.] His bronze demanded and M'helan glared as he mounted the thick neck. He didn't have time to buckle down, for Taviath lept off and glided down, landing in the Weyrbowl with a thud. He had landed outside the open hall which would take him to the Council Room where the meetings were held. M'helan dismounted and walked down the hall, hearing a flap of great wings behind him. M'helan found himself pushing a door open and stepping inside conference room within minutes, and making a slight bow to the Weyrwoman. "Good day, Ranea and J'kar." M'helan said, looking at the table, "Where might I sit?" M'helan asked, not sure of where the Weyrwoman or Weyrleader would have him sit. |

Ranea smiled at the bronze Rider and pointed at the chair next to the one at her right hand. "The first one is saved for the Weyrleader, and J'kar seems to have taken the other...so I guess right to the Weyrleader would be appropriate." She smiled, having a bit of scolding of J'kar weaved into her words together with the respect for the bronze Rider, whose dragon almost Caught Kyriniath, as it was a gesture to sit next to the Weyrleader. "Looking forward to train all those children and small dragons?" she conversed to make time pass, noting his dress. He looked quite handsome. |

"Anywhere just not there." J'kar replyed with a very exxoeranted exergation of the woprd there. Pointing at of corce B'haf's chair. "APperently that's the weryleader's seat." He added the slight distaste showing on his face as well as through the way he said weyrleader, with a slight sneer. "I see once again, B'naf is late. Logicaly that the weyrleader doesn;t show up for his first meeting on time." J'kar added with a slightly stuck up sarcasstic tone to it. That or corce warrented him another warning from his dragon. <[Keep your temper!]> Narrk'th snarled at him, then slightly more calmly he added, <[You know we can't break tradition, RESPECT HIM!!]> Narrk'th raored the last part, apperently that was ingrained into the dragons' minds.... |

M'helan sat down where told, "Of course. I think I will be able to teach anyone who comes my way, if they learn to respect me." M'helan said, shrugging and crossing his arms. He sat back in his chair and looked at J'kar, "And you seem a bit early. Yet, any Brownrider would be pleased to attend a meeting. Yet, for all you know, our Weyrleader is probably caught up in signing papers. So you had better stop assuming things, mainly since every time you do you make an ass out of you and me, got it?" M'helan snapped at J'kar. He may not have liked that B'naf had won, but he was also his friend and Weyrleader. |

[There is a meeting.] Sith had been awake enough to hear the message as it passed around, and promptly informed his half-asleep rider. >Hm? A meeting? Geez. No time to sleep off the excitement, huh?< Despite his complaints to his dragon, N'har had dragged himself to his feet, and gotten into a brown tunic and pants, as well as forcing his boots onto the right feet. He climbs on his dragon to have Sith take him as close as he could, the rider still tired and would probably lose himself on the way to the council room. [There was just a flight.] The dragon's response was belated, as he'd left the rider to get himself ready before commenting on the grumpy reply to the summons. Taking off, he flies to the ledge nearest the council chamber, landing to let his rider down. [You must've gotten enough sleep to keep you awake through the meeting, or you would've been harder to wake up.] The remark was added as N'har got down and started towards the room. Ignoring his dragon's response, N'har enters the council room, glancing around briefly to see how many beat him there. Taking a random seat, but avoiding the one he knew to be reserved for the Weyrleader, he decides he probably wasn't too late, and that was something to be glad of, though that thought was interupted by a huge yawn, showing that he'd been woken up by the summons, reinforced by the fact that his eyes were only half open and his back was slumped. "So what's this about?" |

The Weyrleader was late. The Weyrleader was only 23 Turns old, the Weyrleader's dragon was only this big, the Weyrleader had only transferred in a sevenday ago and wasn't even on Tkana time yet! B'naf had expected criticism, but undermining right from the start? At least he could say that it hadn't been Craibth, though Faranth knew where that beast was, off with Kyriniath even at such critical times as these. [You must be patient, B'naf,] the Bronze rumbled petulantly at him. B'naf rolled his eyes but bore no more ill will towards his remorseful dragon. Still, Craibth hadn't even warned him! Rubin, Ranea's little green, had found B'naf on his way to the Dining Hall after meeting with D'san about the candidates, and he'd been able to yank Craibth's mind away from his other 'activities' long enough to translate what the little lizard was trying to tell him. If it hadn't been for her... [Would you forgive me if I filled you in?] Craibth asked. Grudgingly B'naf agreed, his heels clicking harshly against the stone as he crossed the Weyrbowl. D'san's blue launched from the ledge just as B'naf got into the Weyrwoman's weyr, and the young man collected his thoughts, suppressing his irritation. D'san stepped into the Council Room and passed a grave look over all that were present. B'naf still wasn't here? Sweet Faranth, where was that boy? He'd had Olanth warn Craibth as soon as the dragon had told him about it. Nodding at each and murmuring a greeting to the Weyrwoman, he took his seat further down the table-- as Candidate Master, he certainly warranted one. B'naf made sure that his steps were audible over the voices filtering down the hall, determined to keep his cool. As soon as he stepped through that door, it was on. At least if he'd gotten here earliest Ranea might've filled him in on why she was calling a meeting-- now he was just as much in the dark as the rest of them. Was it her, then, testing him? The Weyrleader of Tkana Weyr did not hesitate before he passed through that door, and there was a smile on his face-- not cheerful, as it'd been the other day. He was not the charming young B'naf, trying to woo a pretty Weyrwoman. Today, he let there be no question of his authority. The atmosphere was already tense enough in the room as it was. Dissension? Oh great. "Good morning, and how prudent of the Werywoman to have everyone assembled!" he glanced around, the smile still in place even as he committed to memory everyone that was not looking at him. Unaware that M'helan had defended him, he nevertheless offered the senior Bronzerider a slightly warmer smile as he circled the table to take his seat between he and his Weyrwoman. It was Ranea that he pinned the longest with his gaze, doubting as he looked at her that she'd try to undermine him. Then again, that could be his infatuation talking, but he daredn't imply that. "Nearly everyone's here already, are they? Good, it's about time that this meeting was started," he settled, smiling just a little self-deprecatingly. |

((I'm contining as if B'naf had arrived in the middle of the conversation.)) ...."Signing papers." J'kar sputtered out laughing. "I'm sure our great and dignified weyrleader is signing paper." J'kar stammered nearly falling off his chair at the thought of B'naf signing paper, twas a good thing to Else B'naf, the big klutz, might have sat on J'kar's feet that he had ever so callously propped up on his chair. Blinking back tears of laughter J'kar's face a quickly turned a bright shade of red as he saw the weyrleader had entered, "As I was err, saying... I couldn't see you signing papers." J'kar stammered, hoping B'naf hadn't picked up the sarcasm in his voice as he walked in the the middle of the conversation. "So, B'naf. Just what were you doing? I'd sure like to know what detented you." J'kar said with polite mild interest, really he just wanted to know, to catch the weyrleader in a lie. He'd be checking out any story very thoroughly. (Not offence, This is really what J'kar thinks. You're about a 9.7 an the awesomeness of roleplayers skills chart) |

"Of course, J'kar. Although, you deadglow, I think we can drop the subject about what the Weyrleader was doing and get on with this meeting. I have things to do besides this you know, and I seriously do not want to stay in this room with you longer than I have to." M'helan said, glaring at J'kar. He turned to the Weyrleader, "How are you today?" He asked B'naf. |

((No offense taken! 8D IC events don't mean anything OOC. xD I know it's J'kar and not you. <3 )) If J'kar's tone of voice didn't give him away, his mortified expression certainly would. But B'naf decided to give the Brownrider the benefit of the doubt, glancing at him with as neutral an expression as he could muster. It didn't mean he would humbly explain his tardiness. He looked instead to M'helan, grinning. "Just smashing, my friend," he suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. "You and Taviath been getting along well?" Taviath had flown well during Kyriniath's flight, and B'naf was not too prideful to say that he had deep respect for the older Bronzer and his beast. Only then did he address all assembled. "That said, the floor really ought to go to the Weyrwoman," he pressed Ranea, trying not to let any tenderness into the glance he aimed at her. Had to be professional for just a bit longer. |

"Doing quite alright. Now, if he didn't wake me up at five in the morning to let me know he wanted a bath, we'd be awhole lot better off." M'helan said, looking to the Weyrwoman after B'naf said his last sentence. What was this all about? He uncrossed his arms and set his elbows on the table, leaning forward slightly, and awaiting for the Weyrwoman to begin her speech. |

"Five in the morning? And you complain? The last few days Ky has woken me up in these hours, where not even the watch dragon is completely awake. All just to run off with that beast of hers. But she hasn't been that demanding with oil and baths, on the other hand. She sleeps most of the time, when she's in the weyr." She smiled at M'helan, making sure not to look at B'naf for so much as 2 seconds. She needed to concentrate. Then she continued out as loud as she could, so everybody could hear her. "Good day, everybody, I'm glad that you could all be here with so short notice. First of all, I'd like to introduce our newest masters. We have our Candidate Master, D'san of blue Olanth. Weyrling Master, M'helan of bronze Taviath. We have also gotten some masters here: Master Healer Siage, Master Harper Franen and soon to be Master Dancer Irini. Our new Headwoman has also arrived, Miniea. Those masters and our Headwoman will all soon have a fire lizard so we can easily contact them, as there has also arrived a Candidate with a golden flit called Phoenix. I trust D'san and M'helan to make sure that her Flights won't twist her head: You have to be around whenever that little creature Rises." Rubin came out of between and landed on the table in front of Ranea. "A suggestion would be to keep female flits around Phoenix to warn us." She had, during the whole speech made sure not to mention B'naf being the new Weyrleader: This was supposed to be known already, she would not in any way question his authority by mentioning it. "But we all knew these things already, so let us get on with what this meeting is really about: Wingleaders. I did not get a chance to talk with the Weyrleader before this meeting, due to the circumstances. But I suggest 1 or 2 wings, and the Wingleaders will of course be chosen among the bronze Riders without positions already. The 2nd Wingleaders will be browns." She looked around the table, again making sure not to look at the Weyrleader. "So now we need to choose. Meanwhile, I'll just make Rubin find our new Headwoman, so she can tell us about the state of the Weyr." She poked Rubin, who turned her head and looked at her bonded human. "Go find Miniea." The firelizard took off again, vanishing between. |

M'helan nodded at the mentioning of his name and agreed with the Weyrwoman silently about the girl with the golden firelizard. He looked around the table, and surely J'kar would be a WingSecond. M'helan looked at J'kar who was probably thinking of becoming a WingSecond, oh the joy. M'helan knew the Weyrleader would hear an earfull if the Weyrwoman stuck those two together in Wings. |

"Oh, hello Rubin!" came the sweet voice of the Headwoman, "How are you today?" She asked, handing the firelizard a piece of meat that one of the drudge's was cutting. *Meeting in Council Room* came an image from Varroy, "Oh dear!" She said and her Bronze firelizard hopped onto her shoulder. "Let's go!" said Maniea, talking to the firelizards as she headed out the door. Her plump frame jiggled as she fastwalked to the council room, and luckily it wasn't too far off. She opened the door and closed it behind her, "Oh, sorry about all this sweetie. I really didn't know." Maniea said, apologizing to the Weyrwoman and standing up, not sure whether to sit down or stand up. Her dirty-blonde hair was tied in a tight bun, and she had a plain, blue dress on. |
