Having left the Feeding Grounds after her owner, but not following her, Phoenix pops out of between outside, winging over to the roof and settling down on her feet. She was going to Rise soon and her owner was focused on an oversized green hatchling. Snorting, she looks around, eyes whirling between blue and red. In one sense she was content, but when Isalia came to mind, she was mad. That green. Just like the arrogant one who kept bugging her. No, different shade. But still. ((I need to get her Rising done. ._. xD)) |

Quite a few wild bronze and browns came and got ready to fly the gold. Some flapped their wings impatiantly, while others just intently watched the Gold flit eagerly. [There you go Tina. xDDDD =3] |

Head tilts at the male fire lizard. She wasn't Rising yet. She was just pretty close. Flapping her wings experimentally, she decides to act closer to flying than she really is. The flits were fun to watch. Her eyes switched from red-blue to all-blue as the appearance of the browns and bronzes took her mind off Isalia. Where were the ones she'd seen around the Weyr, though? She'd been interested to see how they'd do. Oh, well. She could just blame that arrogant green. ((xD I think people should be more worried about a fire lizard getting hurt by all this than a hatchling. xDDD)) |

A bronze flapped his wings as well fussing at a brown who had gotten to close to him. The brown backed off from the rather large bronze but kept his eye intently on the gold, as if beliving he'd be the one to catch her. The Bronze settled down and looked at the queen. |

Malith popped out of nowhere and landed on a stone. He hissed quietly and rolled his eyes, red with lust already. He sensed this beautiful gold creature, and Irini had told him that it was important that he Caught this one. Well...like he wouldn't do his best! |

The gold's gaze lands on the most recent bronze to arrive for a second, noting that this one's not a wild. She unfurls her wings, ready to take off soon. This would be fun. There was no way she'd let herself be caught by any of these smaller fire lizards. Her mind was completely off Isalia and the Impression of the green now. Off greens completely. It was just her, the male flits, and her imminent flight that now occupied her mind. But they'd have to wait just a little longer. |

He noted every little twit of hers. Every blink of her eyes. Every breath. She was ready to take off, he was sure...he unfolded his own wings slowly, making sure to spare all his energy for the Flight. He wouldn't lose her, no. Never! He looked around - all wilds. They could make this really hard. But he wouldn't let them Catch her. |

Wings unfurled completely, Phoenix glances around at all the browns and bronzes, then suddenly takes off, wings beating the air, carrying her away from the other fire lizards. Gaining height, she dips and rises, enjoying herself in Flight. She wouldn't let any of those males catch her. This was too fun to end it by being caught. Golden neck twists as she glances back, judging the distance of the other flits. |

Malith immediately set off, a millisecond before all the wild bronzes ((they're still yours, Katie...I just thought I'd get them up. xD)) He flapped his wings fast, trying to catch up with the gold. It would be no good to lose her already or to use all his power within moments. All around him there were wild bronze flits, also trying to Catch this beautiful golden creature. ((Bah. Bad post.)) |

Seeing the bronze she recognized as from the Weyr ahead of the others, she beats her wings faster, weaving back and forth, dipping up and down, in a random pattern, wondering if she'll confuse any of the younger wild ones. Going between didn't even cross her mind, unlike the dragons. After all, that would end it all. The glorious rush that allowed her to fly like this, the excitement of the chase, the enjoyment in glancing back and seeing that large group behind her. No. She knew from before she launched into the air that that option wouldn't be an option. But which one would Catch her? If any at all? |

Several wilds fell out, but the three in front refused to, and the one in the lead of them, was the very bronze that fussed at a brown. With a few flaps of his bronze wings caught up with Malith and pushed harder to get infront of him. |

Ferat had left R'nan's shoulder and began again in chase after Phoenix. He was ready to fly again even though the other flight had just ended pretty much. Ferat was always one to be terribly late into lfights though as he caught up with the back of the pack and began fighting his way towards the front of it. |

Malith cast a glance at the others, then just flapped his wings even harder. He wouldn't let any of these wilds Catch her, that was for sure! He was faster and stronger, he knew for sure. And he had been watching her for days, and Irini had told him to catch this one. Therefore, he would do all he could. If he failed, he wouldn't have done well enough. |

Head turns back again, once more checking the positions of the others. Still not too close. Good. She suddenly swerves to left by about forty-five degrees, flying that direction for a little bit, then swerving back to her original path, wondering how many might've dropped further back, if any. Some had already quit. Not enough stamina. She snorted to herself, then resumed her random pattern of movement, occasionally glancing back to see how the males were doing in their attempt to catch up with her. |

Ferat finally made his way to behind the three leading bronzes. He had one thing in common with one of competitors. If he could help it, no wild flitt would beat him to the beautiful queen in front of him as he pumped his wings even harder to force himself further forwards in the pack as he tried to pass the leading bronzes. |

Malith followed her movements, trying to prepare for any unusual movements she might make. He was determined. ((It's really hard...flits don't think much. Ô_o)) |

With another glance back, the gold noticed that one bronze had been at the lead the whole time. The one that wasn't wild. They were slowly catching up with her; it would end soon, as she couldn't go any faster. She curves upwards, climbing higher in the sky for a few feet before dipping back down and evening out a little above where she started. Curving a little to the left, she changes direction slightly; maybe some would keep going straight because she turned back last time. |

Ferat noticed her speed had basically stalled as he followed her antics that he had to, but didn't do anything he didn't have to. He pumped his wings as hard as possible to make one last attempt to beat the leading bronze as he forced his way beside the bronze flitt, crooning to the queen. |

Malith ignored the other bronzes completely, it took concentration to follow the queen's movements. Instead of going all the way up with her, he simply flew a bit higher to reach her level after her dive. He flew straight for a moment after her turn, but then realised she wouldn't turn back and quickly followed her to the left. They were definately catching up with her. Then he took a second to check the others...there was a bronze, who were trying hard to catch up with him...no! He gave it a little extra, it could be now or never. Meanwhile, he also considered Irini's advice: Tricks. Trick her into getting close enough. |

Slowing down slightly, as she is beginning to feel the effects of fatigue from flying as fast as she can for a period of time, Phoenix glances back again, figuring one of the two from the Weyr will probably catch her; the wilds seemed to be dropping out too easy, or just being too slow. It would end soon; she wasn't able to keep up maximum speed and hope to stay in the air long enough any longer. One of them just had to catch up with her. |
