If a flit was able to smile, Malith would have smiled. Irini had even fed him with blood. He flew faster, this was the time for him to try one of those...tricks. He crooned quietly and sent a picture of two tails tightly together to her. Then he dived and flew just under her, heading upwards with each beat of his wings. |

Ferat shot up past the bronze flitt to go to Phoenix. He wanted to catch her and this was his chance. He flew up towards Phoenix to try and catch her. He didn't want to be beat by a stupid bronze. |

The brown was pretty good considering his color. That kept crossing her mind; he seemed to be competing pretty well with the bronze, not something she'd seen watching others' flights before Isalia'd been Searched. It would definately be one of them. Noting the two come at her from different directions, she veers upwards before either can get in her way above her, wanting to drag it out just slightly longer. But this was it; she was going to have to just let one Catch her after this; she was out of things to try, and it would just be repetitive if she dragged it out any longer. |

Ferat followed her last trick and beat with all his strength. It was now or never for the brown. He moved ever closer to Phoenix, trying to catch her. |

She went upwards, he went even more upwards. No problem. If just that other brown one would stop messing up and go away. It was a gold! Browns could go chase greens. He glanced at Phoenix, crooning a bit louder so that she could hear him. He couldn't really perform more tricks from here, other than Catching her from below. |

They'd caught up with her. But she didn't glance back long enough to tell which was closer. Instead, she levels out, wondering which one will Catch her. She almost expected the feeling of claws on her shoulders as her angle changed for the last time before the end of the Flight. She'd decided it a better idea not to be aimed upwards when she was Caught; it might not end so good, though she had no basis for this. If she had glanced down, and been able to distinguish the figures well enough at the distance, she would've seen her owner watching, desperately trying to think of how to get through the message to let the bronze Catch her, and the gold-wanna be fussing about undersized creatures taking up her attention. |

Ferat was now below Phoenix slightly as Malith was above her. This would not be a test of speed Ferat thought. This seemed to be Phoenix's choice. He crooned soflty to the queen as if in song. |

((I believe strongly that Malith is the one underneath Phoenix, so I will post like that...)) Malith just continued flying straight, since another glance upwards had told him that the queen was heading downwards. This would bring them close enough for him to make sure that she would be so close to him that she couldn't use her wings...yes, he had it all planned. Now it was all about being cool and not eating the meat too fast. (It's a flit! xD) He stretched his wings to the fullest, crooning lusting and in love to this beautiful creature, who was just out of his reach. |

Glancing back again, Phoenix realizes she doesn't see the bronze. Where'd he go? Confused, she hears the croon, and realizes he's below her. But why? What would that serve? Then she realizes: if she gets any lower, she won't be able to beat her wings; his would be in the way. Clever. But she couldn't see how that would allow him to Catch her with the brown coming up above and behind her. Just as she was thinking this, she realizes the brown's closer now than before. But she couldn't dodge down, couldn't go faster, and going to the side. The brown would Catch her, unless the bronze was planning something last minute. Sure enough, she felt the claws at her shoulders a moment later, and felt herself falling with the brown, no idea that she was disobeying the command Isalia had meant to give her. ((I'm going to get Isalia caught up now. xD I just wanted her Flight over with so she can get to the feast. xDDD)) |

Realising he had lost, Malith almost stopped in the air, looked sadly after the gold and disappeared between to find Irini. |

Ferat just went down with Phoenix happily, crooning. He would never know that he might've started something bad in they Weyr yet. |
