I like the computer. I'm hoping to get a new HP real soon. I saw one at a Best Buy for 900 dollars and it was a beauty.

Has intel core i7 processor
Has 8GB RAM
Has a 1.5 terrabyte hard drive, or 1,500GB
It has a multi reader disk drive
Oh and it runs Windows 7 Home Premium

That is lots of power for a low price.

HP/Compaq is a good company, I would check to see if that hard drive is full speed at 7200RPM and not something slower, and if it has a decent graphics card. Other then that it isn't much more then what I paid for parts for my computer here.

The best thing for someone to do is to build their own computer. Its easy and it will drop ur costs in almost half for a computer.

Not to mention much more upgradability so it can stay around long and keep up with the times.

****** happens K4..HP and Compaq both use motherboards from ASUS which is one of the best if not the best companies that make motherboards, because yours died so soon is a fluke. You can have a hard drive die on you 2 weeks after you buy it, or your RAM die 1 year later, or have something come that you ordered and it won't work from the get go.
Just overclocked the CPU to 3.9GHz successfully.

This is great. I just noticed, I have dual processors on my laptop. 2 Intel Pentium Inside T3400 processors working together to get a total speed of 4.2 GHz. I'd like to build a gaming computer one day with Intel Core i7 extreme, Windows 7 ultimate or home premium, x64 based system, Nvidia video card with direct x 11, 1TB hard drive, 6GB of ram. That would be my dream computer. Mabe in a couple of years I can make it happen since I will be learning about networking next year.

Naah. Mabe in a couple of years. Mabe even a core 2 duo. or a quad core processors. Imagine how fast a computer must be with the i7, 7 processors in 1.

It really would be 1 processor with 7 cores. Servers are known to have several processors with multiple cores, but home computers have yet to venture into that.
The fact that the Sandy bridge was recalled because of a stupid error is a major turn off from intel. How can you not notice a decrease in speed between the hard drive and the motherboard SATA II connections? After all your the company creating the chip set.....

And just because you have more cores on 1 processor doesn't mean it will run faster per say. As of now programs struggle to accommodate the use of 4 cores, let alone 6 or more. The hardware is at the moment is moving way to fast for programmers to keep up with. I would rather have a high speed quad core then a slow speed 6 core or high speed 6 core at the moment because of that.

But being able to unlock the unused 2 cores, like on my processor, defiantly lengths the amount of life time the machine can be around as programs evolve to support it. Which is why currently I haven't even bothered with unlocking the 2 other cores on my CPU.

Added a new case fan and did some wire management as well as swap out my old DVD writer to a slightly newer and smaller one so I can add the fan to the top of the case when it gets here....
Posted Image
Only draw back to the case fan is that it is loud as ****
http://s961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/tcrstaff1/?action=view&current=100_2277.mp4
And it is most defiantly the case fan or the vibrations from it...you unplug it becomes silent....guess 21db is LOUD.
Added in the final 2 case fans as well as put silicone vibration absorbers on all of them to keep it semi quiet...Still louder then it was but you have to balance the noise with keep your hardware working and in safe conditions.

The front to cool the hard drives by sucking in cool air(dropped the hard drives by 10 degrees already) the one on the top to suck all the hot air out and spit it out the top, along with the one on the back next to the I/O panel. The one on the bottom also sucks in cool air...
Got it all balanced finally. 2 120mm intake fans and 2 120mm outtake fans.
New upgrade!
