I figured it was important for us to talk about that day. I was in elementary school that day, and saw the whole thing live. I only saw one plane that day, and I found out later when I was older, that the plane was in fact Flight 93, only a little time before it would be brought into the ground by the first fighters against terrorism.

I remember like it was yesterday. Crystal clear skies, no clouds and around 73 degrees no humidity. I fear a lot of people forgot and its business as usual. Patriotism was at an all time high and people came together for a common cause.
I have not forgotten, I remember my friend Bobby Lynch who died in the south tower. He went back up to help people get out. I have not forgotten the endless sea of pictures and posters in Penn Station of the "lost or missing" and signs scattered all over Manhattan. I remember.

I was in the middle of class in 4th grade when I learned the towers were struck. We were allowed to pray, if we wanted & the teacher almost immediately started in. I will never forget that day. I proudly wave a flag in honor of all who died that day.

I just wish I could've afforded to get a operational steam locomotive & some passenger cars. I would've used them to run an excursion honoring those that have served/are serving & would have US flags on the front of the locomotive, the back of the tender, & the last car. I also would have banners tied to either side of the tender labeling the purpose of the train.
