Name of Proposal: (Race; Fomorian, Cubi Subspecies) Dream Eater Section: Miscellaneous Please detail your proposal: ((Obviously, up to criticism and whatnot, as this feels rather rough to me, even.)) Race Name: Dream Eater Average Height: A common height, at their fullest, happens to be at least six feet tall. Common Skin Tones: Their skin tone is akin to ash, rubbed into dirty skin, commonly textured akin to leather. Common Hair Colors: Oft-times bald, those who do have hair often have thick, wavy, and rather ill-kept hair of darker hues. Common Eye Colors: Their eyes are often tinted dark in color, with their sclera a rather dull, deep grey. Their pupils are somewhat red in hue. Aging Rate: While they age at the rate of a normal man, they take after cubi in that, well, feeding will allow them to retain whatever point of youth they wish to keep. Average Lifespan: Many perish some time within their thirties, if they do not feed traditionally, due to organ failure. Otherwise, they will live unless starved, or murdered Alliances: As a somewhat sub-variant of cubi, they are both aligned with and rivaled by such, both feeding mainly upon the same prey; Man. However, dream eaters are able to feed upon children, as well, and perhaps with ease -- Compared to cubi needing to charm their way into a meal. Most Common Occupations: Rather illusive, they mostly avoid having occupations in either fomorian or human society -- Preferring to keep to their own groups of their species. Defining Abilities: While their combative abilities, for the most part, are rather limited, dream eaters have a wealth of abilities thanks to a special cloak that all seem to garb themselves in. The magical quality of such allows them to use glamour magicks to seem human, when wandering such territory and towns -- Though, their reflection will remain as their true form is, and children can see through such, alongside the blind hearing their true voice, footsteps, and other such things. They are also able to do minor teleportation, should they need to quickly flee the area, though they can still be hit during such. This is also used to get into areas in order to feed, their magicks also able to easily open or destroy locks, and they themselves are rather good at being stealthy. It is also presumed that their presence causes lethargy. Perhaps most notable is how they feed -- Not through intercourse, but through sitting, hunched down, on their sleeping target. This causes the target to have restricted breathing, though not too much, due to the light weight of the dream eater. As such continues, their 'good' dreams, alongside erg, are drained -- leaving behind illness and nightmares in return. Defining Physical Traits: Their bodies are rickety and physically atrophied, with long and spindly limbs, the tips of their fingers meeting their ankles often or not. They look rather emaciated, with their ribs often showing(if one can catch a good glimpse), and the bones of their face notedly showing. Their eyes are often tired, and perhaps baggy, while they seem to have lumps here and there along their body. Their hair typically grows in clumps. In general, they are seen as rather ugly. Generally, they wear particular cloaks, that entirely hide their form. They even seem to form the shoulders to look normal, compared to the thin ones their species has. Traditional Names: They, as well, use fomorian for their names, though some enjoy using abstract concepts for such, compared to nouns or verbs meaning just what they are like. Culture &History: As succubi/incubi are to lust, and vampires presumably to pride, dream eaters take to the sloth of man in terms of their feeding. Their origins are rather shrouded in mystery, as with many fomorians, but it was obvious that they split from the main line of cubi at some point or another. Notable for never truly appearing all that much in Emain, thanks to the reflection of the lake showing their true nature, they are reclusive and not well documented. |
