How is everyone dealing with the program being killed when you run words.txt?

I'm wondering the same. I'm working on balancing my tree, but no luck so far.

Are you on the well? I only manage to blow the call stack when I try to run it on well or bell. As for balancing, I don't think we're allowed to do that (though it does solve the problem).

If you're blowing the call stack when off the well, are you normalizing the strings? I believe we don't have to do that for this assignment (though I'm amazed that normalizing the strings causes enough overhead to blow the call stack).

Ive been running everything off of bell and haven't had a single problem... insert on words.txt running in under 3 minutes. So it that shouldn't be the problem

Did you balance your tree, to get it to work?

I have made a balancing tree. I also have the nonbalancing one. Neither one blows the call stack unless I run it on the well or bell (only the nonbalancing one does). Making the tree balance itself can fix the problem, unless the tree size starts getting really big. If it starts getting really big then even my balancing tree would have a risk of blowing the call stack while inserting (since I implemented the balancing recursively).
