Typical Martin O'Neill signing, the guy loves his British players overpriced and overrated. This is the same guy who bought Heskey and put him on 50k a week after he flopped at wigan |

You're right about Carroll, he is pretty much the bench mark of bad transfers. Just shows how fucked up the market is over the last 15 years, Arsenal bought Henry for 11 and Bergkamp for 7.5. Shearer to Newcastle for 15. |

Berba - 63 League starts, 27 League goals for Tottenham. Joins Man Utd for 30m. Fletcher - 41 League starts, 22 goals for Wolves. 15m 2 Sunderland so I guess Numbers dont lie FLETCHER >>>>> BERBA

I don't want to say I told you so... but I did write a blog post about how overpriced British players are, and the fact that these limited managers/clubs who mostly buy their biggest purchases locally have a shit scouting network so tend to get ripped off badly. They would rather pay £14m for someone who will probably be average to not too bad, I think he's ok personally, rather than £10m on a complete flop because their scouts cant be sure of the quality It's so silly though, these clubs should have global scouting systems in place already! Really just shows the limitations of these British managers and club philosophy |
