I AM STABBY THE DANCING MONSTER
|
[Shaun is terrified of clowns. Shaun is having a no good, very bad day.] Caketown: Are you alright? [Shaun had just jolted backwards, and down a half a flight of stairs at the sight of a seven foot tall man in an old billowing clown suit, pure white tinged in black, and now the monstrous thing is squatting on his heels, checking on his well being.] Shaun: CLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN! [Shaun scuttles back crab style until he hits the nearby wall, his sharp business suit covered in the spilled coffee from his fall and a wide-eyed stare at the now rising arches of Caketown’s eyebrows.] Caketown: Ah, my apologies. [Caketown grabs his large wooden suitcase with the name CAKETOWN in an arched balloon font.] Caketown: The gentleman suffers from coulrophobia, I am unable to assist him. Could a Good Samaritan give aid to this man? Woman: Col-what-a-phobia? Caketown: He’s afraid of clowns, and… bother, that is what I am. [The woman looks him up and down, and nods while another man hustles over to help Shaun. Caketown passes a business card to the questioning woman.] Caketown: If you would be ever so kind as to give the man this card if he needs anything from me. I doubt it, but in this bleak world one never can tell can one? [Shaun has defecated in his new suit.] ************************************************************ Caketown: Clownin’ ain’t easy. [The painted lips perk up slightly at his jest. A rare exhibit of emotion from the Sad Clown.] Caketown: But congratulations are in order, Mr. Redmond, you allowed me to feel alive for the first time in a long time. While I didn’t come out on top, I must thank you profoundly for the experience, it was… truly… my pleasure. [Caketown reaches up and lifts the little party hat on his head and tips it, then allowing the elastic band around his neck to snap it back into place.] And now to Battles Royale. Common knowledge would assume I would be at an advantage, but with these long limbs and my opponents lower centers of gravity I’m just ripe for a toppling. A black and white Jenga set with the wrong block pulled… [He does a high pitched whistle that lowers from a Looney Tunes cartoon when someone falls from a great height.] ...blam. Wiley E Coyote all over ringside. However, I do expect a grand showing, a good fight, and maybe in the midst of the chaos I’ll find that fleeting muse that Mr. Redmond let me dance with for awhile. I can live then. I can live for those moments. I still haven’t found what I’m looking for, but maybe in that ring I’ll be shown the path I need to follow. Or maybe I can just have a few laughs. That’d be nice. A chuckle or a guffaw. Yes, that’d be nice. [Fade.] |
