This music always picks me up when I am feeling down, especially at this time of year and makes me feel that it's good to be alive."

Lovely Rich...reminds me of a glamorous 60s movie...driving through the mountains opened top car

"But, for me (I'm a bit of a metal-head) this is just about the best guitar version:"

I've seen the Canon Rock videos too...and that's a particularly good version.

Talking of deep south guitar music
I don't know what this is.... but its freakkin awesome.

I'd say Rihanna, but she's probably too avant garde for the likes of most of you.

Her singing is OKish but she is hardly pushing the boundaries more like same old same old with a very sleazy demeanor, just watching one of her vids makes me want to shower :)

D, the body-contortions are no more than sexual-exhibitionism started by the likes of Madonna and others, and to satisfy the meia boys. Don't watch the video, just listen to the magic of 'Rated', the album, if you're not too old to appreciate the best of modern. Mind you, it was recorded about fie years ago, I think! ;)

P.S. People don't become multi-millionaire entertainers for nothing, and she's got it in loads! She's brilliant live too!

She has a good vocal range.
I just wish she would put some clothes on....Having to shove your underwear in peoples faces, just to sell music... is defeating the object.

J, you know they're all sex-crazed at that age. We all were, so you can't blame her, plus with the bidding of the advertising men, i.e. "sex sells", but you're absolutely right, she DOESN'T need to bare her body to be an amazing singer. In fact, I hardly ever see her videos but I can't help playing this CD again and again because it's just so brilliant, and imaginative. The overall musical genius which must have gone into making it just amazes me. Let her enjoy her youth J. It'll soon pass! LOL!

I agree D. Another of her brilliant songs. Meanwhile, on the home front, I think our Jessie J's hugely talented but she doesn't seem to get the hits like Ri, and btw, does anybody know what's become of our Madge (Madonna), the only one up there with Ri, as far as I'm concerned, but a different genre. I do hope she can stop all that gyrating stuff now. She really doesn't need it. Her vocals and playing alone tells us that she's one of the greatest of all time!

I'm in a bit of a religious mood at the moment, so the 'Irish Tenors' and 'Be Thou My Vision' is currently floating my boat.

Even if the hymn doesn't do it for you, I think you will find their voices quite awesome.

ps. The words in the original Gaelic are around 1,300 years old - timeless.

Simon Bolivar Orchestra, a track from their Fiesta CD, Arturo Marquez.

This track has me dancing under the stars on a warm S.American night in the arms of a tall, muscled Argentian dancer.

Aaaah, an old lady can dream, can't she?

I never plan that far ahead.

Right now I am listening to an unfamiliar pasodoble live from the plaza de toros in Belmez (Sevilla).

Larry Miller: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7lgJNFZjkI

Trying to get a "feel" for his music, he's playing the theatre I work at later in the year, and I need to come up with some marketing avenues to boost ticket sales.

I have become a serious fan of the Welsh composer Carl Jenkins since I was part of performing the Armed Man in and around Nov 11th a few years back.

Here is his choral version of part of Beethoven's 7th.
