An 80 year old mother with dementia. :( :( :(
Well you're wrong I'm 82 and I bet my mind is better than you will ever have at my age.....you more like drooling in your porridge.
I think it was quite clear that DP was referring to his own mother; hence the use of the three :( s

No need to go off on one at him.

A woman never gives her right age, I changed it and I hope you are happy Mr. Pig (hiding behind your name.)

I suppose the mods here knew which is fine and also those that were on a past site with me but who wants to debate with a 82 year old woman.

It's been fun and the people so nice and maybe Mr. Pig is too in real life, I sure hope so.

I'll tell you one thing, I sure keep the posts rolling in for you all, no matter where I am.

Keep up the good work and always look at both sides of the subject you debate.
LillyBee,

your contributions to this forum are a welcome and moderate change to some of the harsher people who post here. If a mistake has been made then forget it. As they say, "worse things happen at sea". ;D

Worse things happen at sea? Do they really? I think I'd prefer being at sea than on dry land in my situation at the present moment. At least I could chuck myself overboard.

I can see where there could be a complete misunderstanding here.

Because Disgruntled Porker didn't play music and his post was right after the not so great piece that I posted, I naturally thought it was a comment to me.

He may have been directly answering the topic 'What Are You Listening To?where we usually get music or the mention of music it complicated it a bit for me anyway and if you would have said MyMother it would have been a help.

Anyway the most brilliant of text on the internet can be taken the incorrect way and it is a shame. Disgruntled Porker, I am certainly sorry for my part.

Sorry for snapping CT. Its been a pig of a day. Now shes taken to using pieces of rag after shes been to the toilet rather than paper and wipes and flushing them. She then leaves leaves them all over the house to dry out so she can use them again, and I have to go seeking them out. Currently shes arguing about what day it is and what's coming on the telly. I'm in for a cracking night by the looks of things. :'(

You had a right to be since our mind sets were in completely different places.

To be an unrelated care giver of a patient with dementia is a very difficult but to be watching someone you love go downhill in such a way has to be heartbreaking and take the utmost of patience. I hope you get help, it is important for people in your situation.

You and your Mother are in my prayers.

What a beautiful job she did with that song Affa.

Here is Chris Jamison and his coach, (Adam Levine) singing together on one of the last nights of the show. He would have won and imo was the best but country music has such a following on 'The Voice' that it was almost certain the other young man would win. He was great as well but Chris was my pick and way better. A college student and on campus mail man and one of a triplet. He was the best the voice ever had and so many voting for this young man.

This the 15 year old girl from American Idol that I hardly ever watch but everyone on line was saying to twitch over to watch her last year. 15 years old and the voice that could hit any note without difficulty. There is talent all over and when it is good, it is wonderful.

Her school picked the song for her however, I think she did a bit of hinting for it. LOL She came in second to a young man they she met there and went to the prom with later that month. It was like they both won, she was so happy for him.

I was dissappointed that it was a rehash of older recordings. Good background chill stuff, but nothing requiring a good listen, or any memorable track that you could "play" in your head from memory.

Your link wasn't playable here LB, but I found it anyway.
Those two were perfectly matched, their harmonies spot on.

My thought was that Amy Winehouse has influenced this new generation of female artistes. Duffy, Adele, Ella Henderson, Jena here, and we are all privileged to enjoy such emotional renditions.

Sorry for being late to discover this post.

Undoubtedly another that has been influenced by Amy W.

Of course it was American Jazz singers that gave Amy her style .... a number, but -
'Amy Winehouse called Dinah Washington the singer who initially taught her how to sing'
