GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY.

JESSICA MORDEN MP - the woman who was parachuted into the Newport East constituency by Blair's New Labour Liars on an "all woman shortlist" and who has presided over a catastrophic failure in the labour majority from tens of thousands when she took it over from Alan Howarth to less than the number who vote BNP has just knocked on my front door IN PERSON to ask if there are "any issues that we would like to raise with her".

We have not seen a politician's "volunteer arse wiper" round here before, never mind an MP.

In fact, the last time ANYONE canvassed me on my doorstep it was "Russell Rees" an arrogant labour council candidate who seemed outraged that I had never heard of him ... despite the fact I had moved into the house not more than a week before.... and that was 1983 FFS.

So WHY has the sitting MP chosen today to come round for the first time ever and ask what we think ?
If ANYONE tells you UKIP are not a threat to labour, mention this post

I live out in the sticks but if my local MP popped round for a chat and I had a large dog I'd set it on him! ;D

How many issues did you manage to raise?

none

My wife had just told her we had not made our minds up when one of her acolytes rushed up our driveway and dragged her away. Presumably her unpaid intern who knows my daughter had alerted her to who I stood for last time ;-)

trust me, if you had the choice between death by rottweiler and death by conversation with me you'd take the canine option every time.

It's that time of the season. A general election isn't too far away now, so the honourable members are obliged out of self interest to mix with the plebs and profess interest in their views. The only interest THEY have, of course, is to get re-elected, so they will swallow their distaste, and pretend to care. It's still a bit early yet, but expect more of them and their foot soldiers pounding on your door err long as the election date approaches.

Cynical??? Who...moi????

I think if a Labour MP or even a pretend or wannabe one, knocked on my door then the tame pet garden dragon would roast him alive.

Would never happen where I live, if the Tories put a blue rosette on a garden gnome it would get elected. It's pointless the other parties campaigning here although it would be nice to see a bit of a challenge....unless of course they release Ed Balls to go door knocking. I'd have to disinfect my garden path if he had walked on it.

I am not going for my actions if any Tory canvasser knocks my door but I will be putting up a large notice to that effect with the reasons why.

I do live in Cornwall and have yet to see a Labour/New Labour canvasser in the 30 years I have lived here.

As a pretty consistant supporter of the Tory political philosophy I voted UKIP in the European elections but fully anticipated returning to the fold for the GE. However my Conservative MP, Sir Tony Baldry, is retiring this time, following thirty loyal and mediocre years as a backbencher, for which he received his undeserved knighthood, and I know nothing of the proposed new candidate. I am most disappointed with the quality of the political establishment since 1997 and will make my choice this time based on the quality of the individual candidate excluding Labour. The likelihood of a Labour victory is negligible so I don't need to vote tactically to keep Labour out, so in all probability it will be between UKIP and Conservative.

I have met Baldry on a number of occasions when I was a paid up card carrying member of the Conservative Party, and was notably unimpressed. He has certainly never canvassed my house although I have received a number of 'personal' invitations to attend high ticket price functions which I have never pursued, and I had his minions all over me like a rash when I sold my small group of companies and it's sale was reported in the media.

Candidates knock on doors only in marginal seats.
