A lot of people seem a bit upset by it, is this the only way to get EU related legislation through parliament now? http://www.theguardian.com/law/2014/nov/10/european-arrest-warrest-u-turn-vote-commons-chaos |

Coming on the heels of the bogus 'reduction' in the £1.7 Billion EU supplementary payment, this is just making the government look more and more like a bunch of liars. How can we EVER trust them to uphold ANY promise ? I certainly don't trust them to uphold their promise of a EU referendum. |

Well, there's a surprise! /sarcasm Seriously though, was anyone expecting anything different?, when the going gets tough our political class throws democracy out the window and doubtless they'll do the same with the EU referendum. |

Not often I agree with Jacob Rees-Mogg but when it comes to parliamentary procedure he does know what he is on about. The European arrest warrant was not even on the agenda:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29989107 10 November 2014 Last updated at 13:46 GMT The government has not given the vote it promised on the European Arrest Warrant (EAW), said a Tory backbencher. Jacob Rees-Mogg said the Monday night vote would be on "ten statutory instruments", and not on the EAW, as MPs were led to believe. And he accused the home secretary of a "mixture of scaremongering and speculative guarantees", while the warrant was a big step to "Europeanising" the justice system. The MP told Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics: "It's important to note the vote tonight will not be on the European Arrest Warrant at all." |

but he never made a promise to hold any such thing, i was listening on the radio when he made the statement he said IF they were returned as a majority conservative government they would enter into negotiations in which he would fight with every fibre of his heart and soul to persuade us to remain part o fthe eu, and then he would put a referendum on the results of whatever renegotiations he had managed to secure. So many if's he knew he'd never have to keep his word. |

As far as I am concerned his words are binding and only a war could provide an escape from that obligation. It always makes me laugh when I hear "crisis in Capitalism" when the truth is that the fault always leads back to a failure of Politicians. There are good reasons why they should not be trusted and when it comes to a vote it is based on which lot to you trust not to let us down the most. |

Its like political parties manifestos. We vote for the package, , not for the individual policies. That is where the small print is hidden, and our freedoms and rights taken away from us, always with the claim it was in the manifesto. Justy how many people will read the political parties manifestos, all of them, before they enter their cross on the ballot papers? |

I'm at a loss to understand just why they included debate on the E.U. arrest warrant in with a bundle of other measures, and presumably hoped by so doing so that they would have it nodded through; when had they listed it as a separate debate it would have been passed with a large majority, as it had Labour backing. I don't know who decides on these things.....chief whip? father of the House?.....P.M.?..........but whoever it was seems to have made a booboo of some significance. It makes them look like they had something to hide. Not clever, Dave! |

Michael Gove hasn't took very long to stir things up again. A conviction politician no doubt - well imo he should be convicted. |

If you had heard some of his comments during debates in the House of Commons, you might have a change of mind. |

No, but it might mean that parents who take their child for medical treatment that is unavailable in England to the Czech Republic can avoid being arrested and jailed in Spain on the say-so of an English judge. |

And it always makes me laugh when I hear the word crisis in capitalism and the taxpayer ends up bailing it out to the tune of £375bn. File under where did I leave my false teeth |

Not all of them, EU quotas will ensure other nations get some, although our ones will probably get better houses and more benefits, oh and probably a diversity co ordinator as well. |

There was no fuss at all when we signed a highly dubious version of this kind of thing with the US a few years ago, I suspect one little word has caused all the problems here. Which one of these things is the nicest? 1, Blowjobs from Europe. 2, Fluffy kittens from Europe. 3, Smiling children in a um.. a European setting. 4, Jesus returning to Earth in Brussels and bringing World peace. 5, Agonising terminal cancer wrapped in the Union Flag. |

I guarantee it'll end up putting ordinary peoples freedom in jeopardy, just another step towards a One world government (see britain joining europe), with a One world police force for the New World Order. Illuminati scum bags!! |

I'm all for the EAW and I hope we opt back into it. Our police force needs it to catch criminals who cross borders, as well as extradite suspects from other countries to face charges of crime like murder, rape and robbery. It's a shame that some backbench, anti-EU Tories want to scrap it, risking our security home and abroad. |

No I doubt that will be the case. Those parents were treated the way they were because a surgeon decided to play god and the courts let him. |

Except that a brief pause to peruse the "due process" under which some of our own have been treated leaves me in no doubt the legal processes in the countries which will have the right to demand we send people are, to put it bluntly, substandard. |

Just another broken promise from this useless coalition. Their will be a vote on EAW Promise = Ditched Now because of a squalid stitch up between Clegg and Cameron the other watertight promise on the In Out EU vote has also been ditched. Ostensibly the vote fell because they couldn't agree concessions for those saddled with the bedroom tax but that was just the excuse for Clegg to bury a vote he hated anyway and now Cameron can now blame the Lib Dems for him breaking yet another promise to the British people. Both come out smelling of roses but they fool no one but themselves. |

I think we need a system between states to get alleged, [note the word alleged[ criminals back for trial or returned to prison, but it could, be signed up to in some othr way. We have agreements with the USA which is not part of the EU. I do not think the opposition is opposed to some sytem of repatriation, but they are opposed to signing up to EU legislation that will tie us further into a EU state, or prevents us protacting our own citizens from false allegations of crime , including political ones. |
