Emily Thornberry has resigned over her white van man tweet in Rochester.

I don't know (or care really lol).

The entire affair is (or should have been ) a storm in a very small teacup! Is the fact that she tweeted that picture any worse than the media publishing yet again that infamous Bullingdon club photograph of Cameron and Boris in their white tie and tails uniform? Both, in their own way, are mocking in their portent; the one sneering at white van man and his cross of St George, the other at upper class toffs. The "storm" could have quickly died down, had not Ed stormed in with all the diplomacy of a bull elephant in must, and demanded her resignation. Incidentally, did you notice poor old Ed's response when he was asked his personal reaction to white van man? "Respect" was his one word answer!! Sure Ed...if you say so!

I noted that some in the media just had to let everyone know that this Labour woman lived in a house worth ~£3m. I wonder if the Daily Misery will print a picture of her front door with the single word message "£3,000,000"?

Or better still would the Mail ask it's readers if it wouldn't mind a twenty stone cage fighting car dealer with four kids moving in next door?

I have a feeling that might knock a few digits off of their houses value. :P

Five years ago all three of the Established parties would have been calling this guy a racist bigot - and the Press more so.
There would be some reference, no matter how obscure, to the BNP and the term 'thug' incorporated ....... what changed?

Is that supposed to be a real person? (I would not be worried about a twenty stone cage fighter, but the four kids would bother me.)

I think the Number Plate "SNOB 1" is the clue.

I understand that Milli puffs his chest out with pride every time he sees a white van or a house festooned with the flag of the English. You have to larf.

Personally I am puzzled by the assumption that a house festooned with St. George's flags is the home of a New Labour voter. (In this instance it appears the man is a Tory voter, when he bothers to vot)
He looks like a BNP/UKIP supporter.
Looks can be deceiving.

Could you provide a link for that please. Because there appears to be conflicting reports in the media as to his occupation(s).

I personally think that what has upset Miliband more than anything, is the fact this hardly known MP has reminded the Electorate that there are more Labour millionaires living in £3,000,000 mansions and owning property on the opposition front bench, and then criticising Tory millionaires living in mansions and owning property.

Her official profile tells of a council-estate girl who made good, and who resolved to take the peoples' cause to the House of Common.

In reality she is the daughter of Cedric Thornberry whose illustrious CAREER in academia culminated in his became Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations - as many 'ordinary' kids do, of course.

She STUDIED Law at University and went on to become a barrister specialising in why, Human Rights of course; is there anything else? Cherie Blair would be so proud of her.

As an aside, does anyone else wonder at the increasing levels of corruption amongst the avaricious self-seekers that comprise our Parliament and match it to the increasing number of corrupt and self seeking lawyers polluting the place?

Emily is married to Sir Christopher Nugee, a High Court Judge, and they live in a £3 million property on the same road as the Blairs lived before they moved on to ever more grand accommodation - as all men and WOMEN of the people do; naturally. In addition, to further reinforce her heart-felt socialist convictions, she owns a number of other properties in Guildford.

Still, I guess we should thank her! She has managed with a simple PHOTO and three words "Image from Rochester" to open the eyes of the rest of the country and showing them precisely what the Labour Party think of them! She has also managed in one 'stupid' act to throw the Labour Party in total disarray, scoring a brilliant own goal. Well done Emily! Do you have any more tricks up your sleeve?
