Executive Summary
This Autumn Statement sets out the next stage of the government’s long-term economic
plan. The government is continuing to take difficult decisions to put the public finances on a sustainable path. The Autumn Statement seeks to improve the UK’s productivity (edit affa = UK productivity has fallen under the coalition) with further measures to drive efficiency and reform in the public sector, to back business and enterprise, to invest in infrastructure (edit affa = investment spending was cut, has been lacking), and to build a northern powerhouse. The Autumn Statement sets out a radical reform of stamp duty land tax (SDLT) (edit affa = £800ml - hardly a massive amount and doing not much at all if prices continue to rise) to improve the functioning of the housing market, a further increase in the Income Tax personal allowance to support working families (edit by affa = no MW increases this time - the lowest paid are already exempt and can't afford to start a family)), and further steps to reduce tax evasion and avoidance.

Those (in bold) aims would be in Labour's manifesto and the Liberals as well ........
