So says puffy faced arse features defence secretary Michael Fallon (and a few other blue boys) about Corbyn. And whilst I realise two wrongs don't make a right consider the following, the Tories have cut defence spending prompting even Washington to questions Britain's commitment to global security, they are also keen to flog off both public and private assets to wealthy Arab nations who don't really like us, the Chinese are in on building our nuclear power plants and most horrifying of all from a security standpoint City loving Fallon, a director of City firm Tullet Prebon which loves privatisations and the fat fees normally available, remained silent as Chinese telecom conglomerate Huawei was granted the right (kerching!) to "update" Britain's telecommunications system. Note Huawei is banned from operating in Canada, the US, Australia and New Zealand on account of it's cyber attacks on those countries, Huawei is controlled by a former general in the People's Liberation Army. I can only conclude the Tories are hypocritical wankers who would put short term profit above national security. |

When it comes to being a threat to the defence of the realm, the Tories have done more damage than any previous government. |

Fallon evidently comes from the "don't do as I do, do as I say" school of politics. |

No it's not. http://chj.tbe.taleo.net/chj01/ats/careers/jobSearch.jsp?org=FUTUREWEITECH&cws=1 Not it's not, he was a junior officer. There are concerns but lets base discussion on facts. BTW the Huwaie BT deal long predates 2010. |

You mean it sells handsets and other hardware to many nations? As opposed to being a contractor that has controlling interests in the countries I specifically mentioned? And thank god the bloke in charge was only a junior officer in that communist army!

George Osborne 6th June 2013 and in response to claims this Chinese firm was a security risk. "I cannot emphasise enough that the UK is open to Chinese business investment". So that's ok then, what a relief!

Well what do they actually supply to BT? And have you checked that they have not been thoroughly white box tested? |

According to what I have just read it is mainly the hardware which BT was keen on, predictably because they could buy the stuff much cheaper than they could have done virtually anywhere else. The later involvement in actually developing and helping to run the telecom system is something that was strictly forbidden in those other Five Eyes nations, and for very good reasons that have nothing to do with saving a few quid. But not here apparently! |

Well BT only say they supply networking components. "Set up and managing the network" can cover all sorts of evils and innocent stuff. Trusted computing and networking are strange goals. No one has ever really achieved a totally trustable solution of any size. I rather suspect Huwaei may be much less than the weakest link in the chain. |

Well we're back to the old and well worn line that "i'd sooner supply the french than let someone else do it, that way when the buggers turn the stuff on us we know how the self destruct works, including the way in to it we DIDNT tell them about" ... The tories of course have a slight hill to climb when throwing this particular flavour of muck around. And nobody is ever going to allow the fact that we've pissed wheelbarrowloads of wonga up the wall on a totally pointless weapon system for years to come into the open ... |

The Brab. hanger still gets used - Concord got assembled and F111s were refurbished there - not sure what is going on at the moment, but I doubt it is empty. |
