Tories launch group to represent 'moderate trade unionists'

The Conservatives are setting up a new group to bring together Tory-supporting trade unionists.

Robert Halfon, the Conservative deputy chairman, said the Tories were now the “party of working people” as he claimed they stood in the centre ground of politics.

Labour should retaliate by setting up a group for disenchanted non doms, hedge fund managers and corporate raiders.

They could all share a back room in a local pub when it comes to meetings.
