I have a pair of Cerwin Vega! speakers for the band's PA. They are CVA-28. Last night (thank god it wasn't at a gig) the amp in one of them suddenly went into 'protect' mode and has stubbornly refused to work since. Unfortunately, Cerwin Vega! do not provide a 'reset' switch for this, and the manual states that one should check your fuses, connections etc and then refer to an authorised dealer/service engineer. Now, I'm not the tightest on the planet, but it seems to me that paying some guy to disassemble the unit, replace a 2.5A fuse and then give it me back whilst demanding a king's ransom for the effort may stretch my patience. Not that I can diagnose the fault from looking at the outside of the box. Anyway, I've spent some time looking for the schematic/service manual for this thing without success. Does anyone know of an on-line resource for such a thing? |

Hope this isn't patronising but literally googling "cerwin vega cva-28 amp protect" briught up a few promising results incl a site called fixya.com There are a raft of ultra-techies on gearslutz and I think the SoundOnSoun forums. Ask there or just search their boards. |

Not patronised at all, thanks for the resources. Hopefully, the answer will be out there. |
