There are a number of complaints about cut in police funding., or the potential cuts in funding, with the opposition leaders trying to make much of it, but how many police officers are there in the UK as a whole, and are they sufficient in numbers to police our streets and prevent terrorist attacks?

There are about 132,200 in the UK which I believe is more than there are in the British Army, and of course we know that the army will always be called in to assist the civil powers as needs be, just as they were in France.

Well done the French with a socialist leader and government, for giving their security forces the powers to shoot to kill, and did so without any calls for the terrorists to be arrested, their civil rights respected , and for them to be properly represented and tried in a court of law like our own opposition leader demands.

It seems they had the full support of the French people

Is this a post just to reassure yourself? :rubchin:

I can't help but wonder if we had a non Tory government your views expressed here would be doing an abrupt 180.

Do you think the British public would withhold such support? I think not.
