Well he can't seem to put a foot wrong, even when he says the most outlandish things his support increases.

Another done deal for me, say hi to the next presedent of the U.S.A

What don't kill him makes him stronger.

They can't ridicule him, it's been done and he just grows stronger

So, with Hilary up there in the stratosphere in terms of the number of electoral college votes garnerd from HER side, what odds the next scandal in the race to the white house gets dubbed TrumpTonGate

I thought the American people had started to mature when they finally saw through the Bush family and the damage they caused the world. Are you saying that they want to vote in an even bigger right-wing arsehole like Trump?

And that haircut. I care less about polished politicians. But a homeless man get a decent cut for $5. I'm deadly serious. There is no excuse for any man not to have a decent short, sharp haircut.

It's one thing to garner the support of members of the Republican party.

But - demographically - it would be much harder to get a majority of the general population.

The republicans know this, and eventually they will drift away from him, knowing that Trump as a presidential candidate would not get in !

The only Republican who has a chance to challenge Clinton would be Marco Rubio imo

Instead they are voting for this self-aggrandizing comic book character .....and the rest of us are watching aghast.

Just as we do not want the US to poke there nose into our voting intentions regarding an EU referendum, then it is no business of ours how the Americans wish to vote....democracy....voters get what they deserve.

And basically, what that means is that the Americans get to dictate the way that governments all around the world will operate their foreign policy in accordance with the way that the USofA decides it should be, ....fall into line or fall behind, the choice is yours.

Yes this is serious, if a billionaire cannot afford a credible syrup you have to wonder how he will run the free World.

It's a twenty minute video but do watch this rant from America. It nails Trump ... or " Drumpf" ... his immigrant ancestor's name before they changed it to something less ethnic.

Enjoy!

Actually, Trudeau (the Elder) had a fair bit of Abenaki Indian in him. Trudeau (the Younger) much less so.

You misunderstand me, I think. They changed their names to create the illusion that they came from British stock, apparently ashamed of their own origins. How pathetic.

Lots of people changed their names..mostly people who were trying to hide their origins..

I know a family called Bush..who were gunsmiths in Germany just before ww2..their original name was Busch which of course is Jewish..

As much as Trump promotes himself to be a reactionary buffoon he does appeal to many who tire of political correctness. That he might win the Republican nomination and even the Presidency is more a Indication that Churchill was right when he said democracy was not a good way to find the best chap for the job. Worryingly though Churchill added no ones found a better way.

When the Americans sanctioned torture as being a legitimate practice they lost the high ground. The USA should be regarded now as being as dangerous as any other gov. It's a bit sad that it's come to that but after 9/11 I doubt they had much choice.

but they didn't "sanction" torture. They merely redefined it to exclude whatever they were doing to the inmates of their "illegal enemy combatant" camps

As for Trump (and I write this with Super Tuesday still very much ongoing) I suspect Trump will get the Republican nomination, and then it will be interesting to be a republican. It may become even more interesting to be a secret service agent. I suspect they will need some serious re-education, as they will need to regard Bill as The First Man ...

The net result of a Trump nomination will either be a Republican Party train wreck with it marginalized by the voters or , if gawd forbid, Trump becomes President, you will see a VERY different United States. I think that it will be a dangerously fractured and divided USA with a lot of centrifugal force at its heart. They have been there once before and the wounds of therir particularly ugly civil war never completely healed. Will they go there again? I hope not but I can't rule it out. There is no consensus left in that country, just vitriol.

I don't disagree. I suggest train wreck in the wake of a Clinton victory that will grant the world the sight of the "First Man" and a secret service under orders to taser him in the balls if he goes near any of her interns. Madam President's first meeting with any of the towel-headed nations will be, shall we say, interesting too...

I was remembering the words of some chap from the Republican political machine whose name escapes me interviewed on Radio 4 yesterday as I drove to work. They found two such people, one pro-Trump, one anti. That was the "anti" guy's phrase and I think he must have been an English immigrant to the states, or his parents were, because his grasp of the english (and here, I really do mean english, as no welshman or scot I have ever met comes close) capacity for understatement was perfect.

With Trump as a president, I guess it could help the world unite after all.

I'm just afraid of potential disasters for some countries around there. There have been enough mass deaths in the previous wars led by the US (and UK as an enabler).

Trump seemed much calmer in the overnight broadcasts. Could it be that even he now thinks he could win and realises he now needs to appeal to the serious voters?

Hilary is far from bullet proof.
