I was wondering what peoples personal experiences of the economic consequences of the Brexit result have been, thus far ? (if any).

Either your own, or those of people you know personally ?

I know petrol prices have gone up in my area. But the thing that really puzzled me is that the company I work for has had record numbers of inquiries and orders, compared to the same period (August-December) in ANY previous year.

We make industrial conveyor belt systems, and associated control systems. Although we won ONE order "abroad" (Norway), almost all of our customers are domestic. It's difficult to think of ANY direct causual relationship between the increased inquiry/order rate and "Brexit", so perhaps it is unrelated ? The timing is suggestive, however.

My holiday cost more, my fuel costs more but my stocks ISA went up by more so in 2016 terms I am better off.

It's 2017 where the ongoing effects will start to really show

The only noticeable change so far is that petrol costs 6p ... No 7p ... No 8p ... More a litre

But it was up and down like a whores drawers all the time and has been ever since 2009.

Oh, yes, my many offers to work from home and get paid in euros which were for a monthly amount that was risible after conversion to uk pounds have become much mire acceptable, and the rate on offer in euros has RISEN significant (Well I call a 25% rise significant)

And my phone rings more and email job offers arrive more iften.

If this keeps up I will be back to 1992 wealth levels (total take home equalled the prime ministers basic)
