Make of this what you will, it seems no one in the press has noticed this yet, and you have to wonder if Trumps eggshell thin ego will affect his judgement. Here is an almost complete list of nations where Trump has property or fixed assets, UK, Canada, Turkey, Philipines, India, Brazil, Dubai, Israel and Panama. And here is a shorter list of nations he does not have any assets in, he has no assets in the EU! ![]() Specifically he has been rebuffed in Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and Spain, he has no hotels in Japan, Australia has rebuffed advances as has New Zealand. Now lets see how he treats each set of nations. And according to Forbes Magazine Trump personally as of last year had almost $88m invested in among others, Proctor & Gamble, Coca- Cola and General Electric, in fact he has investments in over thirty US companies and by my reckoning 27 these businesses have substantial interests in the UK thanks to our selling off the family silver activities! Additional information gleaned from Bloomberg, The New York Times and CNN Money. I'll be watching with interest especially has US ethics chief Walter Shoub has already said Trumps divesting of business interests has falled far short of what is required.......... Appointing his son-in-law, Jared Kushner as senior White House staff may be directly contravening a clause in the US Constitution that was put here to prevent nepotism and profiteering by the Presidency. That alone might be grounds for impeachment down the road but I'm guessing there will be a much longer list of offenses in a year's time. |

The most amazing thing is the swamp draining! There has never been a time in US history where so many vested interests have been appointed to positions of power, I could of course be wrong and these new people will develop a new level of conciousness and take on board all the inequalities and exclusions so rife in US society and actually do something about it That said in my view Trump and co will tickle the balls of the electorate with the usual heady mix of xenophobia and scapegoating and carry on much as before, after all it's worked a treat here in the UK where pointing out an immigrant might be working harder or doing better than you is a virtual get out of jail card free for the right. |
