There are a couple of debates going on about DT's recent executive orders, and comments about media misrepresentation, so I thought it might be interesting to create a thread dedicated to it.

Here's my opening offer.

In a BBC News online article about the Quebec Mosque shootings, and out of the blue, we have this paragraph...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38800907

BBC

.... The attack came as protests over US President Donald Trump's travel ban on several Muslim countries gripped the US...

The sentence comes out of the blue, entirely unrelated to the previous or following sentences, with no context, explanation or follow-up. It is difficult to understand what purpose it serves within the article as it is a complete disconnect.

As a result, it is difficult to avoid the impression that the journalist is trying to insinuate that Donald Trump is somehow to blame for the attack ?

Or perhaps suggesting that there is a strong anti-Muslim sentiment at present, that relations between muslims and non-muslims are very newsworthy at present.

That's two alternative explanations off the top of my head.

Of far greater concern to me, is a US President trying to discredit the media by claiming they are out to get him and thus avoiding accountability.
