It's not impossible despite Poland receiving massive amounts of money from the EU.

Seems they're having a right paddy as they didn't want their very own Donald Tusk to carry on as President of the EU Council and everyone else did.

Maybe they'll leave before we do as their government is showing not an ounce of common sense on this.

If Ms Szydlo's allegation is true, then there may indeed by fireworks. National governments don't like being threatened. :)

I've met a lot of Poles over the last few years and whilst it's not possible the entire country is populated by arseholes it seems to have more than it's fair share of them, arrogance seems top of the list of personality defects closely followed by the notion they are here to show us how things should be done.

That may be true but you cant blame them for being pissed off for being threatened by the President of France because they do not want a dual speed EU and an EU President whom they see as threat.

Poles can be like the Irish of old, never happy unless they think they are being persecuted. You'd think they'd be a bit more thankful given what the country was like 25 years ago, perhaps they've picked up that sense of false pride by spending too much time in the UK?

Quite understandable really when our own media made the assertion for them first - they too are influenced by politicking rhetoric that informs them that they are more productive, more efficient, less costly, and to top it off favoured by employers for 'all' of these attributes, or is it only one of them?

We no longer hear how France under Hollander will end up like Greece.
There will be some however who still retain the conviction that socialism is the cause of ruin - despite recent history showing them that unregulated capitalism is the real danger to society.

Not really . History shows there are many paths to danger. Socialism is one , unregulated capitalism is another....if you want.

Turning against the Poles now eh.

Your narrative is that on the continent the EU has made everyone love one another, and trust each other and speak nicely to one another.

So much for EU unity.

Old stereotypes still alive and well, and they're all friends while flinging shit at one another.

What-a-fucking-club!

Pretty much the same idea as Stalin had, you're free to vote, just don't vote for anything but him.

Of course, this was just a spat between the prime ministers of Poland and France, rather than Poland and the EU. So it probably has limited repercussions on EU relationships ?

The dinner comment by Hollande maybe but the row mentioned in the OP is much wider. Poland is seen by the other EU nations as a leader in the Awkward Squad of countries determined to demand all sorts of concessions as a price for their agreement to a sensible Brexit deal.

There's more mileage (kilometreage?) in this row yet.

Poland want's everything ''It's'' way...they don't like giving money to the EU..however they like taking it..

They don't want migrants..they don't like anyone telling them what to do..

If they do actually leave the Eu...there will be an uprising of right wing politicians..

The same as the rest of the Baltic countries...

And Germany knows it!!

I'm surprised you can't say that in Polish given most of your fellow workers at the Birds Eye factory repeat it all the time, minus my name of course!

I have nothing to do with them..however a Polish ''sex shop'' has just opened up in the mainstreet..One side is a shop..with Polish products..Now Polish orange juice has always been a great favourite of mine..mmm..those Polish orange groves..Next is ''Polish sex shop'' in the same building..I dread to look..but whilst you perusing around the shop..you may come across stuff that has been stolen from you..and here's your chance to buy it back!!

Not a prude are you? ;D

What on earth could a Polish sex shop have in it that might make it offensive? (unless you are under 69, probably.) Unless of course you are making false allegations that it's just a front to fence stolen goods?

I did mind them coming here, I'm sensible enough to know what would eventually happen, and we never employed migrant labour, we needed people with skills who would hang around, and that means employing our own people, not outsiders.

Migrant labour is often the recourse of those who believe in unfettered free markets and poor job security, and we all know who those people are don't we? :)
