Turkey / Netherlands; Nasty language.

The spat between Turkey and the Netherlands has led to some very nasty comments by Erdogan. It seems that Erdogan wants more power and control in Turkey and sees the actions by the Dutch (and Germans) as a stumbling block in his ambitions.

Judging by the comments by Erdogan I would think he is not fit to have any power, authority or control anywhere.

"They are Nazi remnants, they are fascists," Erdogan said, days after he angrily compared moves to block rallies in Germany to "Nazi practices".
Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte called Erdogan's remark comparing the Dutch to the Nazis "crazy".

No use reminiscing, we must address the problem we have right now. There is going to be a bloody war fought on our streets before long.
And your definition of 'before long' is what? Days/weeks/months/years/decades/centuries?

My guess is that if it's going to happen it will be around mid 21st century.
The extremists of both sides control the narrative not the ordinary joes.
The ordinary Joes respond when they have to choose a side .
We saw this in Nazi Germany and we are seeing this in Turkey.
I would put the break up of Yugoslavia as a better example.
My newsagent and Dentist are both Muslims .
So are ISIS .
My I don't know my newsagents or Dentists political views but I do know The ISIS ones....and I'm going to guess that my Newagents and Dentist view would gravitate more and more towards ISIS ones if ISIS came down my local high street in tanks.

God..you are such a scaredy cat..I've always found that ''fuck off'' works??

Do you not think that was a ploy by your hotel..so you would be too afraid to go out..therefore spending all your money in the hotel??

You'd fall for the 3 card trick.. !jk!

Nope. They got all hot and bothered because we wife is blond and one of thr guides said that because she wore short sleeves she would be seen by them as a whore.
So..your wife went out half naked..being blonde as well :o I'm blonde and one thing you must do is respect the local culture..

Whenever I've visited Muslim countries..I wear long sleeves and long trousers/skirt..

It is no good waltzing around these places like you are in Benidorm..It just doesn't work that way!!

Not at all. Not my fault if you quote something and then pretend it's false to assume we can take your reply as referring to that

Now you allege "deliberatey misunderstand and post strawman fallacy" but seem to be "obfuscating" as to just what you are referring to. Maybe you have me confused with Delf's strawman fallacy of "There is going to be a bloody war fought on our streets before long.".

Please clarify.

TBH I would happily take my post and repost it on its own...as a separate point..some other time.
I also didn't realise that Delf was using this claim to refute a point that had nothing to do with it.

I accept that my post was out of context enough with the main drag of the thread to be either a strawman or completely irrelevant due to my misunderstanding

I haven't checked this but nevertheless apologise and accept that I did exactly what I blame others of doing.

Which takes me back to my post that claims extremists control the narrative. History has proved this time and time again. People will take sides and a perceived overreaction from one side will start one from the other side. Meanwhile attitudes harden and become more viscous and extreme.
It's not necessarily the amount of extremist within the community ,what is more important is how many people with the potential and possibility to take sides.
As in the former Yugoslavia people who previously were friends became deadly enemies.

Indeed, except I was only making one specific point; that we are not THAT far from the "..war on the streets" alluded to earlier.

Indeed, the residence of Paris in particular might consider that they've been under attack "on the streets" for some time.

Blimey or should I say FM? should we expect the same if we do not bolster and man our borders more intensely.

Seems to me that 52% have made the right decision for the right reasons in the nick of time.

But we must not take our eye off of the ball, with the summer due and the Freedom of movement about to end then a sudden inrush is well on the cards.

What is happening there in Paris and other "arrondissements is only 22 miles from our coast,.....frightening isn't it. :o

I was referring to the northern coast of France where a good number of the immigrants are being herded to, scoff if you wish, I will stick with my concerns, but at least we both now know where we stand.
