The spat between Turkey and the Netherlands has led to some very nasty comments by Erdogan. It seems that Erdogan wants more power and control in Turkey and sees the actions by the Dutch (and Germans) as a stumbling block in his ambitions.

Judging by the comments by Erdogan I would think he is not fit to have any power, authority or control anywhere.

"They are Nazi remnants, they are fascists," Erdogan said, days after he angrily compared moves to block rallies in Germany to "Nazi practices".
Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte called Erdogan's remark comparing the Dutch to the Nazis "crazy".

Just when will you realise you're being fed bollocks pandering to your preconceptions?

Oh and whoever was your geography teacher should be shot. "Arrondisements just 22 miles away" !jk!
I was referring to the northern coast of France where a good number of the immigrants are being herded to, scoff if you wish, I will stick with my concerns, but at least we both now know where we stand.
Well don't use a term like arrondissement to give faux gravitas to your post if you don't know what it means

And frankly you and a fair few others should stop deluding yourselves about how much trouble France has.

That's a tad rude..I just know how to handle myself..The days when an an Arab offers you 20 camels for your wife...are long over
The current exchange rate is a Mercedes Benz 400 for a lightly used blonde.
It used to be six camels for a blonde.

Yes..my partner goes over to Calais..Dunkirk quite often..he said that ''The Jungle'' no longer exists..however there are a lot of satellite camps...Maybe they should have kept them all in one place?

Also we are being threatened that as soon as the Med calms down there will be more than ever floating towards Europe..to be picked up by the Italian navy who are apparently running a free ferry service for them to Europe instead of taking them back to their point of departure..i.e. Morocco..Algeria and Tunisia which as far as I know are not asylum seekers..

France was in more trouble in 1968, it got through that and it will get through these difficulties.

I lived in France 20 years ago..there were places that you were not welcome..and places you didn't go into unless you had a death wish..The cauldron was already bubbling?? You couldn't go down into the Metro..(full of Africans laughing at you..the first step you took downstairs??)

Yes and so will we, but we will do it on our own unlike France in 44/45.

You seem to underestimate the survival psyche of the Brits.

Come next Wednesday, will be Freedom day when we once again begin to plot our own course with no tar baby or millstone around our neck.

That is not to say we are abandoning or turning our backs on Europe per se.....merely the deluded commission that runs the EU.
