These incidents are going to become increasingly common, and very funny!

, A poll conducted last April by trade magazine Farmers Weekly concluded that 58% of farmers wanted out of the EU, and from today's Times, we now have farmers fretting about who is going to harvest their spring crops! With the £ so low and the message getting through that foreigners are no longer welcome in the way they once were the number of crop pickers from EE has plumeted, not to worry though farmers are calling for tens of thousands of NON EU citizens to be bussed in! No wonder David Davis wants mass immigration to continue!

Hmm... could the Farmer's concern be in any way linked to the fact that non-EU workers might be cheaper, and easier to manipulate ?

Could be, after all most British people would not work for such low pay and under such poor conditions.

Taking back control perhaps? ;D

I'll make a prediction now, after checking Gov UK it appears we export 85% of the shellfish we harvest to the EU and 66% of other fish, and all currently tariff free.

Fishermen also voted out! ;D

"If you see Sid … Tell him".
"That's the way to do it", control public opinion in order to persuade them to act against their best interests.
Forget the Brexit campaigns, this event has long been in the planning - decades of euro-scepticism, of blaming the EU for government inadequacies, and 'turkeys will vote for Christmas'!

I'm looking forward to Brexit now as there will soon be no hiding place for the right wing usuals, they will still try and blame Europe of course, you know the sort of thing, the EU was negotiating in bad faith and they should have been bloody grateful after all we've done for them.

But it won't work forever. :)

(PS, they didn't "Tell Sid" when they flogged off our oil and the very successful Cable & Wireless).

Ah but knowing this they are already building up their other tactic. The 'if we hadn't left then the EU would have been a federal USofE by now with Germany deciding all our laws, forcing us to drive on the right and take in all those Turkish workers and then pay for Greece" bollocks pretending Brexit was necessary to save us from that.

It's not much different than what they were saying pre June 23rd so they have loads of copy already available.

Truly I despair at how our fate has been decided by millions of trusting people sold so much snake oil and the reality that encouraged by this we face decades of snake oil politics.

You're retired and sorted right? Don't despair sit back and enjoy it, that's what I'm doing.

We were told to reject federalism but we were not told to expect feudalism in return.

It's going to be fun when the masses realise they've been had once again. :)

I watched our local BBC1 news (Look East) this evening and was highly amused at the bleating of farmers and landowners who will face financial ruin if they can't get immigrant labour.

Some said they'd simply sell up and move production abroad to where the labour actually lives, others would retire and sell their land off, when asked about all those on the dole who could be used they said they'd already been down that route and only around 250 were either suitable or available for the whole of the region! ;D

Mark my words we'll still be importing cheap labour to help these poor folks out. :)

Oh yes retired and sorted and with no kids better off £ wise due to that damn vote

But I have this thing called a social conscience and also have nephews and nieces and have friends who have kids and they are all going to either suffer or just dump the UK. I will hate to see that.

Yes it could be fun watching Boris and Gove etc squirm but the reality is they and their reps here are just going to drown the criticism with more and more fake stories. How long before the Daily Mail headline is "Brexit saved us from Putin"? or "Boris finds £350M extra fr the NHS"

There's a reason why I name the Conservative Party. Doom & Gloom, it's because that is all the excuse they need.

The NHS is in crisis again, it always is when the Tories are in government - but it's never their doing.
It is their doing!

Just for you from today's Indipendent!

Bean counters KPMG is reporting that a third of UK manufacturing firms will move some or all production out of the UK, (a bit like Brexit patriot James Dyson!) but Europhobes will be doubtless cheered up by the fact it won't be Europe picking up the slack, China and India will benefit the most.

Hopefully no one who voted remain will lose their job, if you voted leave.......

Trouble is that this will never end. The bitter remainers will keep posting ' damned tomorrow' and keep asking for proof that they posted the same thing years ago.
The political impetus is moving from left to right and the impotent lefties are left with hurt pride and bitter threats

What did they do before European migrants were so readily available ?
We have been growing food crops for Millenia....its not anything new.

Actually we used to do it when we were youngsters.....and again saving for a holiday when at University
We were surrounded by others the same and housewives or old people looking seasonal money.
Strawberries, currents, sprouts,...a van would collect us in the morning and take us to the fields.

East Enders used to go hop picking in Kent and sussex for their holidays

An extract from a DVD produced for Heathwood Studios on hop picking in Kent and Sussex from the 1930s to the 1960s. Hops were once Kent's biggest industry and thousands of Londoners travelled down in fleets of lorries and trains to work in the Garden of England. It was known as 'the Londoners' Holiday'.

Rare and previously unseen colour footage of life in the hop farms of Kent 50 years ago is featuring on a new DVD.Hop Picking Memories looks at hop picking from the 1930s up to the 1960s and shows how tens of thousands of people travelled to the hop fields, of Kent, living and sleeping in wooden huts and cooking their meals on open fires. The workers were mainly Londoners who made an annual trip to the Garden of England in trains and on fleets of lorries and they weren't always entirely welcomed by locals.

The doomsayers will pour out scary stories for a while yet. I guess that the scary stories will get more horrific during negotiates post article 50. When things settle down and we are not reduced impoverished slaves to China and Germany realises that it will be better for them not to be our enemy they will tell the others to do as they say and sign the new agreement.
There probably will allow France to pretend to disagree for a bit.
After that the remainers who can still use a computer will just moan for a bit about how good it was when we in the EU and what we are missing by not being in the USE.

Yes this was a very popular form of holiday in years gone by, you get out of London for a week and spend the time in the countryside with all that fresh air earning a few shillings.

Try and sell that one to the average East End person these days, hence the flood of immigrants.

Oh, and if you are available there will soon be some building work in Paris.

Reuters was droning on yesterday about how that City has started the construction of seven new sky scrapers in the capitals financial district, no idea why though, more immigrants perhaps?

But to cheer you up the UK won't collapse, but we will notice we are not quite as indispensible as we thought we once were, plus we'll be running at a lower tempo which may even please certain people of advancing years and declining memory..... :)

I can rember folks saying the Japanese can't build motorbikes because they don't have any design flair, unlike us, then we were told the Germans could never recover from taking on millions of skint East Germans, what about Norwegians? They'll just spend all that money on fish hooks and hard core porn.

I reckon most of the forrins (sic) will stay in the UK and complain about migrants from the commonwealth .

It's more likely that the Brexit deal will be declared the least worst option, and "it would have been worse if we had remained In". the message the government and its press deliver.

Too easy to refute. The government doesnt deliver the message' it would have been worse if we had remained In' because
1We are still in .
2 The message actually is ' Brexit is the democratic will of the majority so we are compelled to respect that'.

This is of course today's news that is claiming 95 local councils have had private contractors cancel care services because they can't make them pay or retain the staff they rely on! Am I alone in thinking that many Brexit voting pensioners may have just voted for their own deaths? Large numbers of foreign nationals work in the care sector.

Sources, BBC News, The Guardian, Express & Star to name but three........

Yes, we know they get the same money as British staff, so perhaps you can explain how we get round this this? Do we fork out more for the biddies or let them die off a bit quicker?

The Government may have already done a back of a fag packet calculation in regards to death rates and elderly Tory voters? :rubchin:

Did you not understand the OP? Could be age related! Let's recap, money is a problem and so is retaing staff, personally I think looking after the elderly is worth more than minimum wage, others seem to think otherwise perhaps? ie the goverment and local councils.
