I'm of course talking about his recent confession regarding his state of mind, personally I think he's made the right decision to go public as stiff upper lip is just crap in my opinion, it's just storing up problems for later on, best let things out?

I occasionally explode with anger at lifes problems but feel much better afterwards, how about other members, let it all out or bottle it up?

Prince Harry is the most authentic of the whole lot of royals. I admire his honesty.

He's also the first real royal warrior since Henry 7th.

I thought Lord Mountbatten made a pretty good show, torpedoed in the Mediterranean and then off to Burma.

My father got his Burma Star pinned onto him by Mountbatten on a combined RAF/RCAF base at Kogala Ceylon. (He said that Mountbatten had an EXCEPTIONALLY long hand that wrapped right around yours.) Dad was very upset when the IRA assassinated him.

sorry

he's a poor second behind Edward, who had to go tell the Duke of Edinburgh "sorry dad, i'm not cut out to be a marine and kill people with my bare hands, i want to be a dancer"

And I know three marines who are VERY grateful he did, as had he gone to his CO and said "look, I'm not cut out for this, but Pater will throw a strop, is there any way you can hide me in the regiment" they WOULD have, and then those three might have had to follow his orders ...

anyway, coming back to the REAL point of what's been going on ...

actually, it took three other deaths and two near-ones before I could find the means to feel anything about a mate of mine who never came back from a tech training dive, and my father from whose cold dead hand I had to wrest one of Pratchett's novels who shuffled off this mortal coil within a month of each other

So yeah, this stiff upper lip bollocks sucks

They should have cast a special medal ... The Duke is Cross.

I'd go further... it is inappropriate.

!mod!
I understand that Tigger may have written it as a reversal of his actual point.. a satirical reinforcement as a rhetorical device.

Nevertheless... on this occasion.... title edited in the interests of good taste. (and my chances of getting a knighthood)

Exactly!

And no amount of sucking up to royalty or altering thread titles will get you even the humblest of awards from Brenda.

If it's not too late become a lolipop man for thirty years, never miss a days work mind. ;-)

No MBE for Tigger.

In the olden days, you would have been disemboweled while still alive, instead.

I say, bring back capital punishment and pronto!

Harry bottled it up stiff lip style and suffered head problems as a result, it's not natural to supress deep feelings of hurt such as your mother dying in a car crash.

She was killed in a car crash involving failure to wear seat belts, excessive speed and booze, all within the 4 doors of the car in which she was travelling

I find that hard to believe..excessive booze? Speeding? No seat belts? She was the Princess of Wales..and obviously had security with her...do you think that a pissed up chauffeur..would have been allowed to drive her anywhere..I've been round the Peripherique in Paris..and you cannot speed..due to the volume of traffic...seat belts?..she was sitting in the back of the vehicle??

I find that hard to believe

There have been enough Inquires held which conclude that you should believe

..excessive booze?

Again yes

Speeding?

Yes again

No seat belts?

She wasn't wearing one

She was the Princess of Wales

So what? titles don't prevent anyone dying in a car crash

..and obviously had security with her

Dodi's personal security man only

...do you think that a pissed up chauffeur..would have been allowed to drive her anywhere

Yep, one did

..I've been round the Peripherique in Paris..and you cannot speed..due to the volume of traffic

They weren't on the peripherique

...seat belts?..she was sitting in the back of the vehicle??

All cars(except vintage) are fitted with rear seat belts , even limos
It's law to wear rear seats belts in the UK , France too since 1990

I thought I'd stumbled onto a conspiracy site for a minute, why has no one mentioned Prince Phillip cutting the brake lines yet?

Not going very well this thread is it? I was hoping it might spark some conversation about the ever increasing amounts of mental illness the nation seems to be suffering from.

What passes for common sense on here is often tinged with bigotry and wilful ignorance. There is always the option of not relying on one source for your information.

:nono: Place de l'Alma underpass just North of the Pont de l'Alma bridge. Over a mile from the Peripherique.

Anyway at that time of day you could do almost any speed you wish on either if you are stupid or drunk enough.

It wasn't nit picking. You made a big conspiracy theory accusation and it fell apart when you got details so obviously wrong. Conspiracy theories are pure evil and frankly should be a criminal offence

Here's the truth in serious detail with loads of similar idiot claims fully debunked: https://downloads.bbc.co.uk/news/nol/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/14_12_06_diana_report.pdf

The collision speed was analysed to actually be only 105km/h (65mph) +/- 5%.

... deconstructing it second-by-second.

We were on our honeymoon when she died and some friends with which we were visiting out in Nova Scotia were 100% certain that she was killed by some arm of British intelligence ... it was just too damned convenient for her to die, at that time.

Then again, if Kelly could "commit suicide", execution style in the middle of bluddy nowhere. because of "crushing remorse" , anything is possible.

Jimmy Hoffa died in a brothel with a smile on his face, maybe.
