Has anyone else had one of these through the post? I got one and tore it up. I thought it might be some sort of scam as there are some crafty buggers about these days. Later, I got a reminder which got the same treatment. And another. and another. Then a knock at the door from someone wanting to know why I hadn't filled it in. Now if it's not a proper cencus, and I'm not compelled by law, and supposedly voluntary, why the persistence? The same day I got another request through the post. By now, I was reasonably convinced that it was genuine, so decided to comply. I went online and the form didn't ask for any sensitive info, so I filled it in.

Has anyone on here had one, because no one I have spoken to have had one?

I do, but only because I turned sown the offer of a job at titchfield ...

"We’ll invite 100,000 households across 7 local authorities in England and Wales to fill in a test questionnaire online. The invite letters will include a unique access code so householders can access the online questionnaire. Another 108,000 randomly-selected households across the rest of England and Wales will also be involved. Some of these households will receive the invite letter and others will get a paper questionnaire. Any of the households can complete the form online, though."

All 100,000 of you should have told them to fuck right off until they came back with money.

Certainly not in this house, a Census is taken every ten years so the next one is due in 2021, notwithstanding that fact, it was mooted a while back that the tradition of holding a Census may be scrapped as they are no longer a true reflection of the numbers in the UK, there are many reasons why people do not fill in a Census form even though it is obligatory and some choose not to be on the electoral list, I could make a guess why, but I will keep my own counsel regarding that.

On reflection, I really should have told him to go and get his neck wanked.

It is against the forum rules to post a link without an explanation of some sort.

as explained above in my link, this is an exercise with a small number of households to see (a) whether it is feasible to roll out an online form of the census, which will allow the ONS to do away with the troublesome buggers in Titchfield who refused to relocate and also to prototype the question and answer format for 2021.

Ah. Right. Hopefully not the main reason the ONS wants to move online ...
