Has Britain been holding Europe back?

A serious question, the refugee crisis has a great deal to do with us as we were one of the main cheerleaders for the so called Arab Spring, we also were at the centre of the banking crisis with London playing it's part in destabilising the global economy, and then later vetoing or slowing down much needed reform.

With us on the way out business confidence in Europe is at a five year high and factory orders are racing ahead, the prospect of taking back many UK based businesses will also boost growth, whilst here storm clouds are gathering. The traditional barometer of the UK economy the housing market has stalled at a time when personal debt has rarely been higher, and of course the jobs market relies on numerous dilutions of the labour market to keep the stats in order.

So the question is will Europe do better without the UK being the perennial awkward customer?

No. The biggest supporters of the "Arab Spring" where probably the French. If London "played its part" in the US-created liquidity crisis, then so did Frankfurt, Paris, Lichtenstein and Brussels.

Mind you, I was tickled at the thought of a City Banker going home to his wife....

"Hello dear; welcome back. Did you destablise any major economies today ? "
"'Fraid not love.. it was a slow day"
"Never mind.. have a nice piece of Battenburg... "

lol.

I suspect some here will regard that as a win on the flawed basis we can crawl longer than they can limp.
