And to think I was doing this sort of thing by the time I was 17 and turning over 72" bore valves with a 20 ton overhead crane with no fancy slow/fast, raise/lower buttons.

20 ton crane?

You were lucky!

WE had to settle for a timber tri-pod with blocks and tackle lubricated with pig fat and a team of four bullock to power the lot!

You used pulleys and chains, pushed the carry along by hand - been there, done that.
