I have always been of the opinion that the WHO (World Health Organisation) had the best interests of humankind at the heart of it's ethos and aspirations.

It is with regret that I have to say that I must question the agency's integrity.

Listening to several broadcasts on both visual and audio outputs today I learn that the 93 year old Robert Mugabe has been appointed by the WHO as it's "goodwill ambassador".

Rather than say what I think, I will leave it to other forum members to defend this appointment. (if they can)

Myself?....I do not trust myself to comment for fear of being banned for life.

It’s as risible as giving Henry Kissinger the Nobel peace prize.

I dunno "G" corruptness is the same whatever the cause may be, Blatter should have been divested of £millions and that money re invested into the tutoring of young footballers from all over the 3rd world countries.

PS.

Reading were shite today and I think that Jaap Stam is living on a knife edge.

Why don't you exit the United Nations as well?

There's a two-for-one special for quitting multilateralism on, this week.

Well it's not just a risible decision it is a disgusting decision that reeks of political and racial bias

The WHO should sack Tedros Ghebreyesus its head that made this decision. Anything less will seriously harm the good work the WHO does

Our young Prime Minister thinks that the WHO appointment connected with Zimbabwe is an April Fools joke.

More people know about football than WHO or the twisted logic of Kissinger getting a Nobel prize therefore football issues are on the same scale eh?
I’ll remember that the next time I consider taking your other pearls of wisdom seriously ;-)

There are travesties and travesties. A travesty concerning the head of an organisation concerning men kicking a ball around is a minor one in any context ...imo.

Absolutely! Look at the dosh involved for starters, and then the publicity it affords the nation hosting it.

No one gives a toss about Mugabe or his nation, except of course Empire lovers and those with an ethnic axe to grind, however the entire World is gripped by football.

I really don’t know why you post this bollocks and expect to be taken seriously.
Mugabe has fucked his country, fucked his health service and is a full blown dictator hiding behind the veneer of democracy. ...the fact that he was even considered fir being an ambassador for WHO is not only a travesty but a stain on humanity.
Do you actually know what WHO is? Do you think it is a Roger Daltrey appreciation society?
It has nothing to do with fucking empire lovers and more to do with kicking the West in the nuts by countries who were part of an empire and can’t forget it.
How you can compare that with football can only you can know........and you scoff at other old people getting the wrong end of the stick ::)
Note...I have seen the amount of fucks Tigger has post and got away with and therefore gleaned that they are tolerated when applied to emphasise a point.

It was pointed out by a couple of Zimbabwe exiles on telly that he never ever uses Zimbabwe health services himself and for a very good reason .

I think we all know Mugabe is a knob of the first order, but seriously who really gives a toss about a 93 year old living in a poor tinpot dictatorship who was proposed by his mates to be some sort of ambassador? Virtually nobody!

And you can calm down now because his airline tickets and limo have been suspended. :)

You need to read the papers and watch the news , maybe even look on the internet.
At the moment you seem to be making assertions about world affairs by looking out of the window and posting the first thing that comes into your head ;D

Funnily enough I did! And it would now seem he won't be a goodwill ambassador after all, as indicated in a couple of previous posts by myself.

On the internet.

Let us hope that worldwide public opinion will cause Mr Tedros to resign his own position as it is very obvious that his judgement cannot be trusted.

Or is it the case that he is yet just one more corrupt official sitting in an easy peasy seat at the WHO.?

Countries who donate taxpayers monies to apparently good causes must be more fastidious in finding out how those monies are used and the gnomes of Zurich should not feature in that investigatory look.
