The dustbins flew up into the air; they came to earth I know not where.

I think the dustmen went above and beyond this morning. I got kitted up with my Sou'Wester clothing and was waiting for the dustmen to get in sight before I went outside and took the dustbin outside and handed to a very cheerful dustman, so he could empty it into the dustcart and hand the bin and lid back too me.
Due to the gusting 80mph wind all the other empty dustbins in the area are probably many miles away by now.
I did not put the reclamation bins out as there is more than enough plastic in the sea as it is.

I remember the hurricane in the mid nineties. We watched our bedroom windows bulge back and forth. I didn’t realise that glass could do that without breaking.
In the morning we found that we were the only house in the street that didn’t have damage to the roof ( some was quite bad) but our doormat flew away, never to return.
