Donald trump agrees that there was Russian interference in the election, but he says it did not influence the outcome of the election.

No influence on the outcome because he says so !jk! IMO he has exposed his Mr Smart Mouth immaturity.

Ah but he left office with massive approval ratings for being ineffectual

An irony is his economic success was in no small part down to the Republican Senate forcing him into budget cuts he could never have sold to his own party.
Obama was also left with the clusterfuck of Wall Street after Bush's years of looking the other way, he's done a reasonable job of getting it back in line, but don't tell that to folks like Mr Pirate....

You have some basis for that claim I hope ?

Why doesn't Trump grow up and stop acting like a schoolyard smart mouthing fool ?
Beware of what right-wingers bring to the table
If the popular vote had translated directly into a Presidency, Clinton would have won by about three million votes. The Americans Electoral College made Trump the President .
That argument .. is SO last century.

1931 in fact

Well in the UK anyway

Although the way Corbyn's going, if we can get shot of the scottish trollop, 2020 might see a repeat

Trollop?????you are far too kind in description for my money.

The 1931 GE was a turning point. Consensus politics gave way to the Party politics still with us today.
PR could have ended that, but having established itself completely. Plutocracy has made that change near impossible.
I'm not alone here in believing it will require huge failure to maintain living standards and employment prospects before the electorate learn that they have it in them to make Parliament serve them.

" before the electorate learn that they have it in them to make Parliament serve them."

IMO, that process has now begun and not before time too, I am of the opinion, that Theresa May has listened to the majority of the voting electorate and that she is minded to put in place policies that will benefit the UK first and foremost by the time of the next General election, as does every other nation on this planet and that is understandable, why would anyone in their right mind agree to being taxed only to benefit other countries?

May has indicated that her government will pay more attention to society at large and cut back on the 'business priority' dogma that has gotten us here.
If she pulls it off she will have achieved what no Labour government was able to do, even with a huge majority of support in Parliament, in the Party. May has neither!

Well, watching the Andrew Marr show this morning, it transpires that our PM will be the FIRST foreign leader to be invited into the Oval office and converse with PRESIDENT Trump......now what could that mean and what is the significance of such an invitation?

I see Trump is so desperately insecure he's got his White House press secretary Sean Spicer telling lies already about how many people turned up to his inauguration

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38712182

He's now trying to defend being caught out being a lying little git who works for a lying little handed git by saying no one has any numbers. Unfortunately there's a time lapse video and public transportation data that shows only about 1/3 the number that came to see Obama in 2013 came to see shaby Donald last week

And Spicer is going to find out so soon and so harshly that you don't aggressively diss the media when they're reporting the truth.

What relevance does this invitation have to the subject of these post between us?
You believe May will serve with more respect for voters, considerably less favouritism for big business.
I mentioned that to do that without the full support of her party she has no chance - I doubt any leader of any party could pull it off.

The difficult part will be maintaining the privileges of the better off who will be hit by Brexit, whilst at the same time offering enough red meat to the plebs to keep them distracted.

Quite so, no trade....no profit....no profit then no trade, believe me,big businesses will decide the outcome of our Brexit and not the spiteful Eurocrats who dread having the trough taken away from under their snouts....oh dear, what a dreadful day they will have when they come to realise that no ideology can ever compete with pragmatism, practicality and common sense.

Perhaps 2017 election/votes will make them come to their senses?....one can only hope. Shrugs:

Surely, one must study the life cycle of a willow tree in order to learn how to survive.
I don't hold out much fate they will change Rich. Just listen to them on here. They have caused all this with the populace finally starting to reject the BS they put out over the last 50 years.Unfortunately some people are never going to learn from history. You can call it ARROGANCE,STUPIDITY or both
Try learning from the right-wing rubbish of the 1980s.

Yes, a bit like the £350 million baloney that voters did not take any notice of either, politicians are very well known for hyperbole and people...rational and logical thinking people take that into account.

People are not such a soft touch as others make out.

So day one and Trump has his press secretary telling outright lies or "alternative facts" as his team put it, about the attendance at his inauguration.

Doesn't bode well.

Yes it's a trivial matter, so why lie about it? Perhaps because he's an insecure narcissist, not desirable qualities in a world leader. But he's proven on day one that he has no qualms about lying. Like I said, doesn't bode well.
Ever thought the man is embarrassed, a bit of humility (yes, even Trump ) Contrary to popular belief,he is human. With the same traits as every other human.

On crowd numbers at an inauguration, does'nt bother me at all. I see it for what it is.Not another nail in his coffin like some.

How long are you going to go on with this for the next 4 years about his inauguration ?

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I am not saying it is healthy. I am saying it seems pathetic to be having a debate about it.
So you'd brush under the carpet him getting a state employee to tell lies and harangue the media in public on day 2 of his term in office as if it's no guide as to what will follow?

To be fair, his press secretary only got the gig because Comical Ali is no longer with us.

I realise the concerns but I don't judge people on things that may or may not happen in the future. Judge him on his record.

He hasn't killed anyone yet,as he ?

He hasn't deported anyone yet, has he ?

He is not building any concentration camps yet,is he ?

He hasn't locked anyone up yet,has he ?

So I see no reason as yet to go into overdrive over him.Maybe because I am practical and a Realist with my head screwed on,who doesn't follow the masses like a sheep.I have my own opinions and I judge people on what they do,not who they are
