Donald trump agrees that there was Russian interference in the election, but he says it did not influence the outcome of the election.

No influence on the outcome because he says so !jk! IMO he has exposed his Mr Smart Mouth immaturity.

I suspect this sort of thing endears him to many Americans, it makes him seem like one of them, as opposed to the likely reality, ie dodgy orange fucker who is in the back pocket of Wall Street.

I work with a guy who looks exactly like that. The whole company calls him "Old Man", even though he's only a couple of years older than I am. The difference is that I own a razor, know where the barber shop is and don't own either a shooting vest, nor a hand grenade belt buckle (want one, tho)
Well I am 68 years old, I don't shave for personal reasons. It is not a shooting vest. The Hand Grenade belt buckle is widely available on the internet in many variations. (I only paid £5 for mine at a motorcycle rally.)
Oh , that's YOU!

Brainwashing is easy really, Just find a few succeptible idiots, tell them a good story and let them go out and spread the word. While you sit on your yacht counting the money pouring in

This is precisely the secret behind the current Alt Right political successes.
Unfortunately in Britain there are 11,334,576 susceptible idiots.
Oh, there are a lot more than that, it is just that they don't all listen to, or vote for, the same Party.

Perhaps, but it seems ironic that the same people who have spent years, decades even, mocking others for being over sensitive and thin skinned are now constantly bleating about how offended and hurt they are by everything.

Probably the complaints of such are old fashioned brought up with a sense of fairness, courtesy to others and plain good manners.
I used to tell my sons that swearing was usually used by those who had a poor understanding of the English language and were unable to express themselves properly in any other way

Abusing others is just a way of trying to build oneself up. its sad to see our nation turning to uncouth ways.
The BBC is a prime example of the change, from no swearing at all to wall to wall soft porn and swearing in so many programmes.

Downhill all the way.

My Medicine ? I am an objective observer. ::)
Perhaps it a left wing thing.

"Diane Abbott told Cabinet minister David Davis to “fuck off” after he tried to kiss her following the historic Commons vote backing Brexit,.
The Brexit Secretary ‘leaned in’ and attempted a light-hearted embrace with Abbott to praise her for backing the Government’s bill to trigger the UK’s exit from the EU.
But the Shadow Home Secretary was not amused by the “air kiss” encounter, which took place in the Strangers’ Bar in the Commons on Wednesday night, an MP present said."

Mmmm....Downhill you say? I prefer real life and reality and that real life is often rough and tumble isn't it? Uncouth? Nah.

I've never put sentimentality into the mix either, you know the sort of thing where some people can be utterly callous towards other human beings who find themselves suffering from many hardships, often it has to be said through no fault of their own, but then the next minute are cooing over pets and certain people who have never had a moments real stress in their entire lives.

I can put up with swearing, soft porn, bad manners and the alleged poor understanding of the English language, IF that is the price we pay for a society that stops congratulating itself and finally starts to think selfishness is a sin..........

What an interesting subject!

Former mixed race Labour MP Oona King said something along those lines to the late Tory MP Alan Clarke who died in 1999.

He showed a lot of interest in Ms King when she was first elected to the House, unfortunately he was more concerned with what was in her knickers than what was going on in her head, Clarke's wife, who stood by him through his numerous affairs, probably thinking of the children and the money, summed up her husband as a "free spirit" and an "s h one tee"

There was an interesting comment on the BBC thismorning.

Apparently this particular appeals court has a history of producing eccentric decisions. Around 80% of their rulings - when appealed to the Supreme Court - are overturned.

Well, that may be put to the test soon.

Have to say I thought going in that the Government would win the appeal

But once you read the judgement it's well reasoned and outlines why he was in breach of the 1st and 5th amendments. Don't think he will win in the Supreme Court

I trust Politicians about as much as trust the media, which is not a lot.

I think Britain is making a big mistake by trying to snub Trumpy..
Britain is not trying to snub Trump, not officialy, its just a few million of Britains people and a large chunk of the population who dont want him here ( including me )

But I am certain he will get the welcome he deserves

I find it interesting to draw a parallel between Trump and Farage.

For years, Farage was denigrated for being a radical and anti EU, but in the end he got his way, much the same is being said of Trump, sooner or later the arrogant "deaf" politicians around the western hemisphere WILL have to listen to what Joe Bloggs is saying and feeling.

People are sick to the back teeth of what I term as politics for politicians and not what it should be which is politics for the people.

As I said last year, a change is coming and the ruling elite had best learn to be flexible and fair instead of arrogant and uncaring in the pursuit of an ideology which is doomed to failure without the consent of those that must "survive" within that ideology.

I am certain that our next generation will thank this one for holding our referendum and doing the sensible thing after our PM was belittled in asking for concessions and a relaxation of attitudes from the EU elite.

The result of those failed plaints will soon become apparent throughout the EU as the reverberations will surely spread, the foundation has been cracked and I am very glad.
