Donald trump agrees that there was Russian interference in the election, but he says it did not influence the outcome of the election.

No influence on the outcome because he says so !jk! IMO he has exposed his Mr Smart Mouth immaturity.

That's another '.May well'. that could just as well be a 'May well not'. What damage is he doing to the American people who elected him. He has only been in power for 100 days and I see no sign of any damage. Perhaps you can specify the damage for our better education. He seems to be damaging the left wing idealists and their castles in the air, but that's constructive. Perhaps that is the real problem.

The more I see of him the more I warm to him, ;D
He has made a bad start. Considering he is president of the most powerful country in the world, that is not good enough. Add to that the distress he has caused to millions of people in the US and he is obviously cause for concern.

But there are none so blind as those who have no wish to see. Those who seek to defend him and then pretend they are not defending him, are the ones practising fake blindness.
He is being defended and supported by the American people. You may not like him, but then we have no say in the matter of his presidency. Why do so many think and act as if they do? His presidency is an interesting subject to discus, but why not be objective about it?

:'(

I've no idea why you keep making this sort of schoolboy error, you for some reason or other claim the "people" are supporting him, the fact is more people voted for his opponent and his rating is the lowest of any newly elected President thus making your claim fatuous at best.

Don't forget that just over half of the electorate actually voted, so that "all of America" that supports Trump is somewhere around 27% of their population.

Apathy ruled the polls so sociopathy now rules the Oval Office.

Whatever, that is THEIR system of voting and so must be accepted by all those that could not be bothered to vote or were as you say, apathetic....it is called democracy as defined by the particular country concerned.

Other country's vote in other ways, some vote by being threatened or bullied, some do not get a vote....it was ever thus.

Before we poke our noses into American politics..let me remind you that our PM was not voted in by the masses..Our foreign secretary dyes his hair blonde..and is a bumbling idiot..And Tony (warmonger) Blair is back on the scene..encouraging people to demand another vote for staying in the EU...The speaker in the Commons is a poison dwarf..Our government is lying to us about when they are going to ''deploy Article 50''..doing nothing whatsoever about illegal immigrants..

I think a little jaffa tan is not that important.. :rubchin:
Nah, his fake tan speaks volumes about his character defects.
Orange hair ... small hands ... those clever extraterrestrials. They should have taken more time to learn the culture and mores of Planet Earth before he landed, though.

Nevertheless, claiming he has the support of the American people is wrong.

Have you noticed how he dismisses and denigrates anything and anyone that does/do not openly supported him ? That is a trait held in common with some of the worst dictators of the 20 century.

It's not so much apathy as an institutionalised electoral racket in Republican led states where they make it very difficult for minorities to register and very very difficult to vote.

Would you vote if you had to take a day off work to do so and your white boss might fire you for doing so?

When I next vote, it is within nation with a very different political and ethical culture than that of the USA. They are as foreign to us and our mores these days as the Arab's are from yours.

p.s. Only the Alt Right freak show (about 5% of Canada's population) reacted to this crime as you have.

Our whole damned country are "migrants". Try to think that one through. We are not like you, either.

I have to ask as I am ignorant of the fact, but, has the US voting system always been like this?

I ask because if it is so unpopular/bad/biased, then why have the good folks of the US not changed it by popular decree?

If it has always been like this then obviously Americans must be happy with it.

Do detractors of the system as it stands say the same when a democratic candidate is elected as president?

The Americans are not "happy"with any of this and they are on the cusp of tearing themselves apart, for the second time in their history. The place is terribly unstable, right now.

This is bad news for Trump as Shepard Smith from his beloved Fox News turns on him

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-fox-news-shep-smith-defence-russia-press-conference-video-watch-a7585041.html

"Your opposition was hacked and the Russians were responsible for it and your people were on the phone with Russia on the same day it was happening and we're fools for asking the questions? . . .You owe this to the American people. Your supporters will support you either way. If your people were on the phone, what were they saying? . . . “We have a right to know, we absolutely do and that you call us fake news and put us down like children for asking these questions on behalf of the American people is inconsequential. The people deserve an answer to this question at very least."

Typically 7am to 7pm but some states close earlier and polling stations are less than local to their voters. It is not uncommon to have to queue for 3 hours to vote in minority led districts

Never read anything about the numbers before the Election or when Obama or Bush were elected by the same system. When democratic countries have elections or referendums we know the terms before they at run rules that all parties accept and abide by. Now when it doesn't suit their purpose they bring in objections and false claim If those who are entitled to vote don't vote, according to the rules in place they can l be considered to be floating voters who don't care to vote.. In any event we don't know that they wouldn't have voted for President Trump do we. Like those remainers want we could hold another vote or referendum and keep having them until we we get the "right" result, the right result being what the liberal left want , for no other opinion seems to matter.

I think that, threatened with arrest and impeachment for treasonable activities, he will resign, sometime later this year.

He can't find a replacement for Flynn, by the way. No one wants to "go there", so it would seem.

Or a case of the very real differences between poverty in the US and R/poverty in the UK.

Right-wingers don't say "I'm better than you" they just believe it and make sure the status quo remains pretty much the same. :)

How magnanimous of you to point out that salient "fact"?
Facts? Alternate Facts? Fake news?

Do you know what's real? What's true?

He has made a bad start. Considering he is president of the most powerful country in the world, that is not good enough. Add to that the distress he has caused to millions of people in the US and he is obviously cause for concern.

But there are none so blind as those who have no wish to see. Those who seek to defend him and then pretend they are not defending him, are the ones practising fake blindness.
He is being defended and supported by the American people. You may not like him, but then we have no say in the matter of his presidency. Why do so many think and act as if they do? His presidency is an interesting subject to discus, but why not be objective about it?
He is being supported by some of the American people and it seems that his support is reducing by the day.

Being "objective" about him means warts and all, so yes, why aren't you being objective about him ?

Now when it doesn't suit their purpose they bring in objections and false claim If those who are entitled to vote don't vote, according to the rules in place they can l be considered to be floating voters who don't care to vote.
Let's just remind you again, you made the false claim that the American people were behind Trump now, do you need reminding yet again?

I've heard it all now, fake tans determine ones character. Listen to yourselves.
How about false teeth ? Are they permitted?
Glasses?
I think excessive cosmetic enhancement is the problem being addressed here, it's laughable to see 70 year old people with hair, teeth and other things that would not be out of place on someone aged 20.

Whatever happened to growing old gracefully?

Yes, IMO cosmetic surgery has gone too far, in the case of the NHS it should only be used in serious cases. After all I don't want to be chatting a smart 50 year old lady only to find out she's actually nearly ninety ;D
