Donald trump agrees that there was Russian interference in the election, but he says it did not influence the outcome of the election.

No influence on the outcome because he says so !jk! IMO he has exposed his Mr Smart Mouth immaturity.

Gents come on now Trump is in the clear as things stand so far.
1) Manafort's alleged crimes happened years before he worked for the Trump campaign.
2) At the first sign of Manafort's Ukrainian impropriety, Trump fired him.
3) The charges reveal no evidence of any Russian "collusion" in the election. Muellers got nothing on that.
"Round one" and it's all over? The investigators are just getting started. What they arenarresting at this point is witnesses to the next round of arrests. This will all reach Trump, sooner or later.
Maybe and maybe the investigation will result in a very different outcome from the one you are hoping for presuming it does not collapse altogether. I did not state it was all over, I posted "as things stand so far. Also it has not just started it's been dragging on for months"

Whatever happens, it's going to leave a seriously divided America. This is all very destructive. Only the Russians are happy. I don't know what you consider to be a happy outcome but all the avenues opening up lead to a bad one.

I understand from Skynews that yet another terrorist atrocity has taken place in New York and the reported death toll is 8, this sort of thing can only strengthen Trumps hand regarding his immigration policy.

Hopefully it'll strengthen his hand a bit more than than the limp wristed effort on show when a home grown terrorist shot dead 58.

Damn, I forgot it's far, far worse to be killed by a muzzie than one of your own.

Trump wasn't very complimentary or loyal to the bloke with a Greek name who has been charged with something financially obscure, hopefully the next one will be a bit closer to home than this one is.

If that attack had been in London and not New York, Trump would be tweeting right now about the "obvious" weaknesses on London's mayor. He is, as they say in New York Yiddish, a schmuck.

The theory is that Papadopolous has been wearing an FBI wire during the last three weeks, since he plea-bargained a "guilty" with the bureau. They must have their data or they would have kept him under wraps for a bit longer.

My happy outcome would be the Dems give up their witch hunt and get behind Trump, vote him out next time round but they will need someone better than Hillary to do that.

Does anyone think this Nov 4th uprising is going to be serious or are the kids just larping?
Plenty of rent a mob money has been made available it seems.

You mean like the Republican "birther" witch hunt (started by a Klansman named Trump) or the "Benghazi" witch hunt that consumed FOX news air time 24 hours as a day for two or three years running?

That kind of witch hunt?

IMO as far as Trump is concerned, there is only one place for this arrogant deceptive piece of right-wing garbage, and that is a garbage dump.

And my money is on him finishing up there.

This is reminiscent of the early days of Watergate. Henchmen and sundry employees of the President's office arrested. Those arrested dealing with prosecutors to save their own necks. A president in total denial. All Trump needs now is a little dog to stroke while he pleads ignorance of the whole thing.
A comparison with Nixon's downfall is hard to avoid.

Thanks for the links Curious ( I read them all) they gave me a chuckle over my morning tea, you can't say Donald is kkk just because some of them white supremacist types like him. I spent a moment or two imagining him dressed up in the pointy hat with burning torch ect and I can picture him like that but it still does not make it true:)

I can give you several links to prove that he is a time traveler but I don't really believe that either.

We all fully aware now that the Trump Russia dossier that came from Christopher Steele was bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign. They tried to put it to the media before Trump was elected but even the MSM would not touch it at that point. After the election they teamed up with the FBI who used the false document to launch an investigation.

The top U.S. general in Afghanistan says American aircraft have targeted drug producing facilities for the first time under a new strategy aimed at cutting off Taliban funding.
Gen. John Nicholson said Monday that the raids involving an F-22 bomber were carried out the day before in the southern Helmand province. He says the insurgents generate an estimated $200 million a year from poppy cultivation and opium production.

It's a difficult one to solve in my opinion, if you let a certain amount carry on then you at least know where it is and can halt it's progress further up the line and then negate any profits going to the producers.

If you eliminate it all together it will only strengthen the hand of South American drug producers and it would seem (as far as I am aware) that they have mobile and underground drug producing factories.

These people are willing to risk life and limb because of the vast sums of money that can be made.

I am much more in favour of letting them make the product, tracking the progress of it and then seizing it and destroying it in public for all to see.

That would be so frustrating for the producers and I suspect the corrupt politicians that allow it's production by accepting bribes.

Cautiously approving. The US has less than a postless record of correctly identifying targets

More details of the multinational raids here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2017/11/20/the-u-s-begins-bombing-taliban-drug-labs-as-trumps-afghanistan-strategy-takes-hold/?utm_term=.ca8181466289

I know not if this is the correct place to air my thoughts but, anyway, here we go, Now Trump campaigned on a very clear platform, he won and is trying to deliver those campaign promises.

I would be the first to agree that I would certainly not appoint him as the head of diplomatic relations to any country in the world.

However, I am now listening to last nights "Question Time" and according to Chukka Umuna,

"Trump was elected on a campaign of hatred"

If that is the case and yet he still won, what does that say about the American electorate, who, it must be remembered are our staunchest ally in times of hardship and conflict and also are agreeable to swapping intel regarding iffy going's on around the globe.

As regards to cancelling his planned visit here, forget the man and concentrate on that we are inviting the highest "office" in the USA to this country

I expect flak, but then again that is why I inhabit this forum.

What does the panel think? :rubchin:

By lending credibility to a UK based far right, extremist group Trump has stirred up division and hostility in our country and strengthened the hand of Britain First and other far right groups which could potentially lead to further violence on our streets.

That to me is crossing the line.

How do you think Trump would react if it was the other way round and May had given an on-line thumbs up to a US based extremist group like say the Nation of Islam?

I'd bet my life he wouldn't be rolling out the red carpet for her in such a scenario.

He can p1ss off as far as I'm concerned, we've got enough problems here without him sticking his oar in and stirring up more trouble.

Not at all, Obama gave you the facts. USA policy for many years has been to not agree bilaterals with single countries. And if you think that's changed one iota then think again. The Hill has to approve any retreaties that the president may or may not wish for.

As for your other comments, Trump did not campaign on a clear platform, his campaign was riddled with contradictions. And the majority of the USA electorate rejected him, he won as a result of decades of Republican gerrymandering and selective voter enabling.

Trump is likely pooing himself now as Flynn has plea bargained and seems he will co-operate with investigators

"That's bad news for Mr Flynn, but it could be even worse news for Donald Trump, who reportedly directly lobbied former FBI Director James Comey to back off the Flynn investigation before firing the top law man".

If you would please address my main point which was .....

Trump campaigned on a campaign of hatred.

My question to the forum was, what does that say about the American voting electorate?

Assuming of course that you go along with Chukka Umuna's claim.

If you would please address my main point which was .....

Trump campaigned on a campaign of hatred.

My question to the forum was, what does that say about the American voting electorate?

Assuming of course that you go along with Chukka Umuna's claim.
But I answered that Rich. (a) the majority of the USA electorate rejected his hate and (b) his campaign was full of self contradictions so you, I and many others heard the hate but others heard different stuff

Here's an interesting read: 141 different stances Trump took on 23 issues

The man is a serial liar who got elected through aggressive use of the internet and social media. Remind you of a certain other campaign?

I'll not bother with the link as any sane reasonable person has no doubt about the character of Trump....he is mentally flawed, but now you have just done what you accused me of recently....that of drifting off topic.

It does not bother me, but you may care to consider such in the future.

As for the American voting electorate, it would seem that they are happy with him, employment is on the rise and he is realising is campaign promise of putting America first.

Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of Trump and am not defending him, but at the end of the day, he is trying to deliver what he was elected to do....excepting stupid and divisive tweets of course.

I'll do better than that as I said elsewhere on here.

Inciting racial hatred.

After 100 days in office Trump has a lower approval rating than any of his modern predecessors and has broken numerous campaign promises:

But he is acting decisively if somewhat stupidly, he has a while to go yet and barring impeachment will see out his term in office.

What would you do in his shoes regarding North Korea?

Flynn please guilty to lying to the FBI.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-42192080

That puts him in the same situation as that of H. R. Haldeman

Rich, what he chooses to do with his own country is ultimately none of my business. But him stirring up trouble in my country is very much my business.

He not only emboldened the far right in the UK with his ham fisted f@ckwittery, he also handed some solid gold propaganda to Islamic extremists in this country too. Those sick hateful b@rstards must have been high fiving each other when they heard about this.

Now if both sets of extremists see our government rolling out the red carpet for him how do you think that is going to play out? Sorry, but I think the peace and safety of my country and it's people should take priority over the US President's ego.

I'll not disagree with that.

But it must be understood that we are dealing with an "office" and not a nutter,....we have extended an invitation and must honour that, as I have said earlier, the precedent has already been set as we have invited far worse people than Trump for a state visit.
