I have split Dorky's question out as a dedicated thread so that anyone that believes there is such as thing as the EUSSR (European Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) can post their evidence that such a thing actually exists and others can discuss that evidence Any points of more general EU discussion import really should be made please in one of the existing threads |

EUSSR doesn't exist. It "feels" like it does - a monolithic government that thinks one-size-fits-all policies are the solution to everything and that want to enact laws that intrude into every part of your life. However, the reality is the EU is at the forefront in implementing a system of governance and policy making that favours Globalism over people. Free Movement is about driving down costs and driving up profits - not about securing work for people. All The Best |

It's just an idiot pejorative thrown by people that can't argue their case on what passes for its merits |

And a denial of the apparent is just as silly. When Heath was economical with the truth, and conned the public into voting to join the EU (or whatever it was called then) I was one who voted yes. But I voted in the belief that I was agreeing to joining a common market; not an embryonic super state. All the government propaganda was aimed at bolstering that deceit. Hell , they even had the words "common market" enclose in parenthesis, just to make sure. But subsequent events, and developments have shown, at least to those prepared to see what is apparent, that the aim of the gauleiters was much, much more than a common market. The only thing preventing the establishment of a United States of Europe (which is still the long term aim) is that they cannot negate nationalism. But that has not prevented them from proceeding with the grand design, step by step; salami slice by salami slice. And I cannot understand those believers in the EU who deny the evidence of their eyes. Consider. They have their own parliament. They have their own flag. They have their own national anthem. They have introduced a common currency. They have their own high commissioner for foreign affairs. And their laws take precedence over any member states national law. And they are not fools. They know that for the euro to succeed long term, they will have to achieve evr closer union, and that will eventually mean common taxation, welfare and all else. It is the logical step. Is there an EUSSR? Not quite yet. But progress has been made. Give them time. |

I'd like to know how many cars, houses or jobs Jonksy has taken on and done all the negotiating in public? No one of any intelligence either conducts negotiations of import fully in public or expects others to do so. Yet we get that TTIP jibe made over and over again. And as it happens the EU has put a lot of the points involved in the public domain: Example 1: http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2016/april/tradoc_154477.pdf Example set 2: http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/press/index.cfm?id=1230 |
