Visual Studio 2008 (formerly known as Visual Studio code name "Orcas") delivers on Microsoft's vision of enabling developers and development teams to rapidly create connected applications with compelling user experiences for Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, mobile devices and the Web. Watch this space for news of Beta 2, which will release later this summer.

check this is out...www.lazarus.freepascal.com

from the name of the site....

its bias i think....

Good luck to you and your programming language....

I would like to suggest if instead we hit each other on what are the disadvantages on each other's programming language

We should motivate or encourage the student to study hard and discover what they are good at. Let them explore. :)

Animo LaSalle!

i suggest u read it again....

I said "we" as a general VS users. Student will just be curious what will that be and they will learn by their own or in La Salle Laboratory. Anyways, if its expensive just like what you have mention, there is always some Educational Version (Cheaper) or a BETA for testing or learning.

End of discussion...the issue is for Visual Studio 2008 or "Orcas" not on debate on other non relavant issue.

@batousai

Can you post your detail information on Class Directory?

You can use this link

I attended an MS intro to VS 2008 a few months ago, and it looks impressive. I especially liked the automatic code generation (from class diagrams to code) and the transparent object to DB mapping (looks similar to hibernate, but I'm not sure).

Maybe you should also make a section on expression studio + silverlight since they are also new stuff from MS.

Btw, if you don't want to buy the full edition, the free express edition + Platform SDK are useful enough.

Free code may also be downloaded at http://www.codeplex.com/.
