Date: Wednesday Aug 22, 2011 Time: 1:00PM Place: Interstate 280 between Palo Alto and San Francisco, Ca Outfit: I’m feeling lazy so outfit description is in 2nd paragraph Music selections in promo: Radio in car, selections are in various places. (The camera fades as from black to a scene of highway 280 in a lonely mountainous stretch of road between Cupertino, Ca and San Francisco, Ca. It is midday, the sun is overhead and there are few cars on the road which is eerie because usually at any time of day, traffic is heavy. But at this particular time, traffic is light. The sun is high overhead and there are a few clouds scattered interspersely in the sky overhead as well, casting shadows on the ground as they roll lazily by. The camera pans around and in the distance we see the satellite radar dish that is used by the Astronomy students at the nearby university, Stanford University. There is a slight breeze which blows the grass on the hill all in one direction. The camera pans back and now coming into the shot is the 280 highway with cars zooming by at breakneck speeds. The camera pans around again and as the camera pans around, a black topless Ferrari goes roaring by at a speed of what looks to be about 100 MPH, going faster than any of the other cars and trucks on the road at this time. The camera follows it as it goes by, the Ferrari looks to be going north towards San Francisco. The camera cuts shot….) (…Camera cuts back to a shot in the passenger seat of the Ferrari. It pans over to the driver and we see that it is Vespertine. Her hair is flowing out behind her as she drives but otherwise she wears a short black pleated mini skirt that reaches to her upper thigh, a blue spaghetti strap tank top (with bra straps exposed) and black fighter pilot sunglasses. She has one arm on the gear shift and one hand on the steering wheel. The song on the radio currently is “Fuel” by Metallica. She doesn’t turn to address the camera but she still addresses it all the same) V: This is my life. The life of the beautiful, the life of the fast, the life of the furious. None of you will know the kind of life I have lived. But this is my life. This is the life I was born to live. It’s the fast life. It’s the furious life. It’s the “live hard and die young” life. I don’t know about you, any of you but I’m on my way to the top of the UWF. I’m on my way up the pinnacle of success in this federation, I don’t plan on losing. I don’t plan on backing down. I plan to go all the way or not at all. I live hard, I will die hard. I’m that female warrior of your dreams, I will go out with bang and take out anybody who gets in my way. Jump on the bandwagon and get out of my way because I’m coming through! (she shifts gears and speeds up) V: As you saw at the Ultimate Showdown PPV, I did my best to defeat 5 other men for a shot at the World Title. I didn’t get it but I came darn near close and I hope I impressed management, roster, and audience alike. So now that is over so now I’m on my way to my second match and I’m meeting O Hara again in the ring. And come Sunday I face him one on one in the form of a standard match. By the look on your face at Ultimate Showdown, Jamie, my sweet, I don’t think you were prepared for what I had in store. Right now though, I think someone has way too much time on their hands. Too even counter line for line what I said in his promo to offset what I said about his history. I mean I don’t have time to do something like that or even have time FOR something that, which means he has way too much time on his hands just traveling around his native Australia. (she looks into the rearview mirror and the camera cuts to a shot of only her eyes looking into the rearview mirror. The camera cuts back to the full body shot of her driving. She slows down to a speed that seems like it is 10 miles an hour slower. The song on the radio has changed to “No Jesus” by Seether. She is still going 70 miles an hour but somehow it seems fast or as fast as when she was going 100MPH. It’s a Ferrari, what can I say.) V: I usually start out in federations being a tweener (a neutral if you will) but I think I forced my hand this time to go heel (or evil) And you know what, I can deal with that. So, just like you care about what I said about me and my history, I care about you and yours. Translation (Korean) Neither of us care. So look, let’s face it. We are even in every way possible. I’m just on the fast track through life and you seem to be in the slow lane. O…M….G! Mr. Tortoise. Slow and steady wins the race or something. Yeah, that ain’t happening this time. Do you have any other explanations for it? (she shrugs while keeping her hands on the wheel) V: Otherwise, why would I face you again… so soon again… after debuting… at Ultimate Showdown. My sweet, you do realize what this means, right? Of course you do. I’ve said it already and you answered already. But I’ll reiterate: it means that you are a BIG stepping stone for me. I may not be next in line for a title but it means I’m on my way up the ladder of success. This means that you, my sweet, if you lose you fall hard. I don’t think either one of us wants to walk out of there as losers. I don’t plan on losing. Do you plan on losing. And really? Am I really a stepping stone for you. Fine, so be it. I’m just not that big of one. Yesh, yada yada yada. Did you have to go on so long? And where exactly were you in that promo. I couldn’t tell exactly. (she pauses and looks over her left shoulder and then changes lanes) V: Thing is, Jamie, don’t go thinking that this will be an easy match because I’m female or that I’m slacking off because it’s a non title match and my first official match here. I’m still trying to work my way up. I’m still trying to impress management. I’m still using people as stepping stones. Which means, I still got to work as hard as, or harder than, I EVER did before. Mostly because, I’m smaller than every man and woman on the roster. So if you are thinking this match is gonna be easy, that you are going to put me away easily, that this dance we have in the ring on Sunday won’t be a long one, think again. I’ve done my homework on you. In the form of your history, your present situation and thus. Now, I’ve got to study your moves and how you move about the ring. What this means is that I will try and take you to your breaking point and then take you past it. I’m sure that you, of all people, can handle it. You can, right? Why would you give yourself the name Phenomenal if you couldn’t? And if you can’t, then I’ll just mow you down and go right past you. I need competition Mr. O Hara and if you can’t give it to me, then you aren’t worth the time and effort I put into a promo like this. (she is just coming into the edges of San Francisco city limits and so must slow down to about 40 MPH. She shifts again but stays in the same lane. The light up ahead has just changed to green and she zooms past it. Again, ironically at this time of day, for 19th Avenue in the City, traffic is amazingly light. The camera pans over to her and behind her we see she is going past San Francisco State University and then the mall that is housed right next to it, Stonestown Galleria. It takes a few minutes to get to the entrance to Golden Gate Park and the Stone Towers that make up the entrance. She turns down Fell St. just before the gate and then goes for a while until she reaches the ocean and the Great Coast Highway. She turns right and starts to zoom along the road in and out of the sand dunes that make up the sides of the Great Coast Highway.) V: I get this feeling, though my sweet, that you and I will be at each other’s throats soon enough and that is a fight, I don’t plan on losing. I plan to be first or not at all. In this match, failure isn’t an option. Losing isn’t an option. I don’t settle for second best. If you don’t and you haven’t watched me up to now or haven’t done your homework on me, then that is your problem. I’m sure you will agree that second best is where the rest of the locker room stands against you and everyone else. (she sighs and pauses because by this time, she is taking the on ramp to get on Golden Gate Bridge.) V: While I like to trash talk with the best of them, it isn’t all about trash talking, it’s about what skills and talents you have in the ring and when your opponent is equal to you like you and I are, then one of us will make a mistake and the other will capitalize on it. I made a mistake in Stairway to Heaven. Hopefully, I won’t make a mistake the next time I see you in the ring. And promos like that, I’m sorry man, if they aren’t fast and furious, you lose me. Was your point in that promo to counter everything in mine? Was that really necessary? Do you think I would listen to anything after the first 10 minutes of it, or even after the 10 seconds. It isn’t what you say that gets you noticed, it’s what you do in the ring. (suddenly her cell phone rings, she looks at it and smiles but doesn’t take it. V: That’s my boyfriend, Sinjin. I can get back to him later. Anywhere, where were we? Oh wait a second. (she puts on her signal to indicate she is changing lanes than does so.) V: So why do I do the things I do? Why do I wrestle men who are 3 times bigger than I am? Why do I put myself in those matches like what we just had? Because they are experiences that you only get once in a lifetime while in this business, more if you do more; because what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? Because people don’t really remember what you say, but they WILL remember what you do and what you have achieved. Do you remember anything you said back in 2009? Hell, I don’t remember a lot of what I said a week or so ago. So, ok you watched the tape on our STH match. You know what I’m going to be mostly known for in that match. Not for taking you to your limit or even being stupid to go against 5 men but for my slapping the face of Creed and then being clotheslined for it. 5 years from now, when they forget everything else about my debut year here, about me, that is what they will remember. Until I do something better than that. They won’t remember what I said to you, to Creed, toWormwood or anybody else here. What they will remember me for is how I dove off that ladder to spear that guy, or how I did that 619 and then jumped onto the neck of that other guy. Hell, you think they remember Hitler’s words? Naw, they remember his actions and his actions killed millions upon millions of Jews. History is written by the winners but when the loser is so big he can’t be forgotten, he is still written about but never in a positive light. That! That is Immortality right there. (she pushes a button on the Blue Tooth and the light goes off on it. Behind her, we can see she is currently going over the Golden Gate Bridge and right now she is just reaching the middle of the bridge. The song on the radio has changed now to Linkin Park’s “Bleed It Out”. She turns up the volume a little bit more to listen to the rest of song but continues on) V: You know, now that I think about it, it had nothing to do with you. That last match and possibly our upcoming one. It had/has to do with me. I had to get out there and show the Board that I am championship material, I am main event material. I had to show Upper Management that I am one of the best stars this federation has to offer or will have to offer once I start on my journey to the top. I have to start making my mark on this federation somewhere, somehow and show the world that I am indeed better than everyone else. (she pauses a second to look in her rearview mirror, pouts her lips and then addresses the camera again.) V: Anyway so here is what I want you to do for me, my sweet, if you are even listening anymore up to this point. Bring me your all, push me to my limits, make me work and work hard to get that win over you. I’m sure you can do that. You are after all, one of UWF’s top superstars are you not? You do have a briefcase in hand do you not? If anybody can do it, you can. So show me and push me. And you and I, we’ll put on a great show. We will overwhelm the audience and give the Board something to think about. If any two people in this federation can do it right, it’s us. Just no more lectures on who are you are, or why, or how I need to know you. I don’t care about your history. I just care about what we do in the ring. (she has crossed the bridge by this point and has turned off on a side street and is going up a hill…camera cuts shot...) V: Because when all is said and done, when all our histories have been put out in the open like they have, and all of the titles we have collected over the years have been brought to light, and all the federations we have been in have been researched, none of that will matter in the end because in the end, in the ring, I’m going to get up and come back stronger, faster, better than before. I’m sure you’ll do the same when I take you down as well. I’m sure your skills in the ring are almost the same as mine. We have a lot of the same moves so we will be on equal footing most of the match. But once one of us makes a mistake, the other will capitalize on it. I’m sure you’re saying that little Vesey will make that mistake because I’m saying the same thing: I’ll capitalize if Mr. Phenomenal makes that one mistake. So I guess what I’m saying now, Jamie, is this: We’ll be meeting soon and I’m ready to see what you can do individually, with no ladders and no other people in the ring. I want to see IF you are the big bad man you make yourself out to be. Phenomenal? We’ll see about that. Mr. Phenomenal. Meet Ms. Well Rounded Fighting Machine. A moniker I obtained when I was in WCW. (…The camera cuts to a shot of her parking the Ferrari and the camera is outside the car now looking towards the Golden Gate Bridge. She turns off the engine, opens the door and gets out of the car. She sits on the hood of the car and looks out towards the view with the Bridge in the foreground and the San Francisco skyline in the background. After a minute or so of scanning the horizon, she looks back towards the camera) V: Jamie, do you want to know what the real difference between you and me is… (she pauses, looks around at the car, then looks out over the view of the bridge, then down at her her outfit and then back to the camera and gives a wicked feral grin and flips her hair back) V: I make this look good! (She looks back towards the San Francisco skyline, puffs out her chest and flips her hair and then leans slightly back on her elbows on the hood of the car. The camera pans off her, to the panorama view of San Francisco behind her and then fades to black.) |
