OOC: We had agreed on 2... You did say the 2nd would be rebuttal of the first. Not my fault you left it late? Also, I've JUST seen your post, so am responding as soon as possible. Confidence Creates Ignorance The scene begins with a worried Warren Elsham pacing the parking lot, back and forth, back and forth, with his hand to his mouth, and a look of concern on his face. He pauses in the middle of the lot and looks at his watch before continuing pacing back and forth. After a few brief moments a limo arrives and the rear door is forcefully kicked open before the driver even exits to assist. Elsham immediately notices who it is. Warren Elsham: Riley! Riley McManus exits the limo, wearing a black tank top with his logo across the front and black jogging bottoms, along with black Nike trainers. He carries with him, a duffel bag which obviously carries his ring gear. Warren Elsham: Where were you, you're late? Riley simply glares at Elsham. Warren Elsham: Nevermind, nevermind... Look, they want you to stop by the press conference real quick and say a few words about the Kings of Wrestling tournament, to hype up the Clash of the Titans event... I said you wouldn't want to, but apparently it's compulsory. So, perhaps, I go with you and I do the talking? Riley carries on heading towards the entrance to the arena, and without changing the direction of his gaze, slowly nods his head. Warren Elsham: Alright, so I was thinking, we talk more about the Church and how we're gonna take them down, and how this is all part of your path of dominance and...And you don't like this... Riley, what's wrong? ... I'm talking too much. I know, I get it. You're still mad, but this is where I can make it up to you... I can make you a big deal here. This is where we get the people behind you, and rally for Riley! McManus stops as he enters the building, holding the door open. Riley McManus: ...NO. He lets the door slam shut in Elsham's face before he has a chance to cross the threshold, and carries on walking towards the press area, following the signs posted on the arena wall. Warren Elsham: ...NO? ..RILEY! Elsham scuffles past the door and tries to catch up with him. Warren Elsham: Riley... Will you stop for a minute, PLEASE? What the hell's the matter with you? You DON'T want hyped up? Riley ignores Elsham as they approach the press area and a runner informs them that they're due in 30 seconds. Warren Elsham: Riley? Speak to me? Tell me what's up and I'll fix it. Riley McManus: NO. No, you won't fix it though, will you? All you've done lately is cause more problems than this is worth. Give it a rest. He's coming. There's nothing you can do about it now. You're done. The runner tells them it's time, and hands McManus a microphone. In the distance, Nate Williams is heard introducing Riley McManus and the crowd reacts positively. Warren Elsham: Done? ...Do-RILEY! Elsham barges past the runner and catches up to McManus as they ascend the steps before walking through the curtain. Warren Elsham: Give me that! I'm still your manager for now, and I'm gonna do my job whether you like it or not! Elsham then parades out past the curtain and onto the stage in front of the press. Warren Elsham: Riley McManus, ladies and gentlemen! The audience applaud as McManus steps out onto the stage, behind an already sat down group of UWF talent, behind a large row of wooden tables. Warren Elsham: I just want to start off by saying- McManus snatches the microphone from Elsham. Riley McManus: Nothing. He wants to start off by saying nothing... You stand there and you say NOTHING. Riley glares at Elsham again and the manager simply stands silently while McManus returns his attention to the press, pacing from one side of the stage, to the other, as he speaks. Riley McManus: People seem to think that because Warren Elsham has been speaking on my behalf recently, that I have no words to say of my own. As you will have seen this week, my new vignettes have me speaking my own words, which will be new for many of you. Yet some still seem to think these words are scripted...Fed to me... That I'm doing what I'm told to do. Let me make something abundantly clear. NOBODY tells Riley McManus what to do... NOBODY! Not Warren Elsham, not Reverend Wormwood, and not even my opponent this week on Underground, Dean James. Perhaps my rise in UWF has been promoted in such a way that people are given the impression that I am "formulaic", that I am "generic", that I am simply another hot-headed beast with no brains. This is completely unfounded bullsh*t and today I am here to change that way of thinking. The audience is stunned by the vulgar expletive from McManus. Riley McManus: This business still operates and still has the stigma surrounding big guys, that they must be jacked up beefy braindead morons with no other choice but to enter employment where they are paid to beat other men up. Would a braindead moron leave high school with 9 GCSE's? Would a braindead moron study at college? No. Don't believe the billed backstory to Riley McManus. There is an awful lot left blank about my past, and for good reason. However, it seems now, my past is about to catch up to me, no thanks to Warren Elsham and his inability to behave according to his orders. You all want to know who 'HE' is? 'HE' is a man from my past. 'HE' is the man whom Warren Elsham answers to. 'HE' is the man who will arrive in UWF to clear up the mess that has been made since my arrival. 'HE' is the saviour, and the former ruler of the kingdom. 'HE', will, lead us all, to the promised land. 'HE' is the one... 'HE' is the one who has taught me everything I need to know about Dean James... He is the one who knows Dean James about as good as he knows himself. He is the one who trained me. He is the one who made me a legitimate threat to Dean James' very existence... Dean James claims not to underestimate me, yet he thinks I'm just another big man whose ambition is too big for his boots. Dean James, I have no ambition. I have purpose. I am merely here to accomplish two things... Warn you of the forces you are now dealing with by making this matter personal, and to destroy the Church of Lucifer... ONE way, or another. I do not need nor seek Championship glory, and while you see my self-elimination from the Brawl For It All match as an act of cowardice, I see it as a purpose fulfilled. My purpose on that night was simply to make an impact and garner attention - it was NOT to lead myself down the path to Championship glory, for I foresaw the writings on the wall, that Jamie O'Hara would soon accomplish this feat. Dean James claims I don't know of his accomplishments or his accolades, or that he has been a part of some of wrestling's greatest moments? Oh I do. I know it all. I know more than he lets his closest confidants know. I know Dean James has faced many men whom have posed a serious challenge and threat to his career. But he has NEVER faced a man who poses a threat to his very existence... Dean James do not paint yourself out to be the bigger and better man in this battle, for you have been told you are simply a pawn at this stage. You are collateral damage at this point... Your time will come in the end, but if you poke the bear, the bear WILL poke back. You are dealing with forces far greater than you will know at this point, and on Underground, I will make sure you are WELL aware of that. As far as the Kings of Wrestling tournament is concerned... I endeavour to become the new king. This kingdom requires a new ruler; one who will not shy away from the face of adversity... One who will not be outcast by his shortcomings. One who will not let what will be, be... One who will take charge and make this kingdom great again. The fallen king will be by my side, in spirit. I will prevail, for the purpose is to eradicate all possibility of Lucifer Creed, the greatest threat to this kingdom, taking power. I don't enter this battle for Championship fame. I will accept the call to power if that be the case, but for now, the purpose is simply to make the Church fall... You think I am a "nice guy"? Nice guys finish last... McManus then suddenly assaults his manager with a kick to the gut before picking him up in a military press position and simply dropping him onto the tables in front of him, where several other UWF wrestlers are sat, and where he should've been sat. Riley McManus: I am far from being a "nice guy"... Dean James... Do not overlook your greatest challenge, for if you do, I will be your last. ...Playtime...Is...OVER! With that, he throws his microphone down onto his fallen manager before looking up as the cameras flash, in an urgent hurry to break the moment's news. Riley then pushes Nate Williams out of the way, into the curtain which forms the back of the stage, and leaves the press area, to head to his locker room for the evening. The scene fades to black as the other UWF talent sees to Warren Elsham who literally, fell across their laps. Edited by P.T.M, Oct 14 2012, 11:57 PM.
