New rules go into effect today, October 1st, 2014. These are minor rule changes. The core structure remain in tact. Most of these are related to roleplaying.

Roleplay Limit - All matches "sanctioned by UWL" meaning all matches at UWL Events, or any UWL Title matches outside of UWL Events have a MAX RP limit of ONE. We are not your #1 fed so we shouldn't expect you to produce multiple RPs.

Character Development RP Thread - It will debut tomorrow (Oct 2nd). A nice place during the down time between UWL Events for you to post CD RPs. You can also post RPs from your actual fed here as well.

Roleplay Judging - We still will not use a "grading" or scale system. Just not how I do things. But I do feel I should perhaps tell everyone the key components to a solid RP:

  • Grammar/Punctuation: This is an easy one. We all have spellcheck and whatnot. I get some characters have certain slang they use. I can tell the difference.
  • Dialogue: This is a major pet peeve of mine. If you are going to have people converse in your roleplay, go over it and think to yourself "Does this sound natural? Do people talk like this?" If not, change it up some.
  • Know Your Opponent: This baffles me. I've ran an interfed off/on for 2+ years now between UWL and CWC. I've lost count of how many RPs I've read that say "I don't know much about my opponent. I don't know that toilet of a promotion he wrestles in. So he sucks. I win." .... What terrible logic. What professional fighter (assuming pro wrestling was legit) wouldn't do their homework? See what fed they're in. Go check it out. Maybe the character has a major weakness just waiting to be exploited. USE IT!
  • Character Development: We're an interfed that has Events 6 weeks apart. We don't have many stories going on. So CD isn't a HUGE factor. But it's a factor. We've had a handful of Events. We know most of your characters. Evolve. Let us in.
  • The Angle: I'm sure you've noticed the description/preview of each match when I post the UWL Event cards. I'm feeding you the story. Something to work with. A lot of people hate being the first to RP because they don't know what to say and worry the other will win because they can just counter... That's not the best strategy to use. If the first RP is so outstanding, it can make the opponent look even worse when waiting and trying to respond. Use the little stories involved in the match preview (I will be doing a new thing from here on out, where I add more detail as we move along for each match), and build a solid RP.
