(BASICS)
Wrestler Name: Veronica Valiant
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 134lbs
Hometown/Origin: Greenwich Village, NYC
Billed From: Private residence near Barbados
Alignment: Heel
Represent: GPW
Pic Base: Tricia Helfer

Manager Name: Jun Takada
Height: 6'1"
Weight: Unknown
Relationship to Wrestler: Both chief of staff and husband.
Interference/Behaviour: Infrequent. Takada is more a source of emotional support to Veronica than a match-winning crutch, and will generally only be noticable if Veronica exits the ring after taking a pasting. He will, however, throw himself into the fray if it seems likely that Veronica could be seriously injured by weapon attack, etc.
Pic Base: Mitsuhiro Oikawa

(EXTRAS)
Gimmick: Unscrupulous, retired Fortune 500 CEO and wily ring vet fuelled by duelling superiority/inferiority complexes. Veronica was an enormously successful businesswoman, and her previous wrestling run yielded successes that anyone could take pride in, yet she still isn't satisfied. Though she claims to be better than all around her, there's always a nagging voice at the back of her head telling her it's still not good enough, and so she can never rest, not so long as there's even one person out there who won't bow in reverence at her passing by. A lonely and tragic individual made impossible to sympathize with by her insistence on shielding herself behind an impenetrable wall of catty remarks and callous behaviour.
Tips On How To Portray Character: She's incredibly smug, talks too much, and rarely seems to acknowledge pressure even when her back's apparently to the wall. Likes to remind her opponents how much lesser and smaller they are than her, both with words and with her actual wrestling.
Taunt Frequency: Medium-to-high. Can drop the act when she needs her full attention but loves to rub it in if things are going her way.
Taunts: Basic stuff: Raising hands to the side and revolving slowly on spot as if basking in the spotlight; condescending tapping fingers on forehead to denote superior intellect; sarcastic applause.
Advanced: If opponent is reeling, Veronica may ignore the opening and instead simply lay back against the ropes (or sit in the corner with her feet resting on the middle rope) and check her nails or an imaginary watch. Also, on rare occasions she may suddenly stop and check her own waistband as if a pager went off, then retreat to her corner or outside the ring to get her phone from Takada. This is sometimes a legit diversionary tactic.

(ATTIRE)
Wrestling Attire: Veronica keeps her white-blonde hair tied back into a ponytail that reaches the base of her neck, with two bangs at the front curving down toward her cheeks. Her lip gloss is peach in colour. She wears a one-piece outfit made from form-fitting rubber, in a dark blue/silver colour, with sizable open areas around the shoulders, back and midsection. It has three buckled straps and a ‘bra’ of similar material across the front to keep it on. The gloves are made of similar material; these are a dark red/purple colour and reach past her elbows, also featuring numerous buckles. Her boots have a short heel, are the same colour as the one piece, and reach up to the middle of her thighs, with the laces running all the way up the front before tying at the top. (pic reference: basically this, minus the trailing back-scarf)
Entrance Attire: As above but with a black, tailored suit blazer on top.
Backstage Attire: Typically, Veronica wears a violet blouse with a revealing but fairly tasteful neckline, highlighted by a silver pendant shaped like a coiled serpent; the same black blazer as her entrance attire, with a white silk scarf resting over the shoulders; a short (but not racily so) black skirt with a split on the right over dark plum stockings; and some Louboutins. Also, she leaves her hair down.

(ENTRANCE)
Entrance Music: Garbage - 'The World Is Not Enough'
Entrance Description:
An undulating electro chord swells into orchestral strings as the crowd is smothered beneath violet mood lighting, pierced by the glare of a wall of pure white illumination spilling from the stage. Human-sized shapes move in front of it, but their actions are lost to the blinding brilliance. As the lyrics to 'The World Is Not Enough' kick in, though, the lights dial down a little and we can make out two forms, one woman and one man, striding down the ramp.

Keith Williams Making her way to the ring now, accompanied by Jun Takada...from her private residence near Barbados, weighing in at 134 pounds...the Mastermind, VERONICAAAA, VAAAA-LIANT!

And right on cue, said twosome steps into view. Veronica walks out front, a confident sway to her hips and arms held out at shoulder height with palms turned upturned, accepting praise that isn't forthcoming. Her shoulder-length blonde hair is nearly as reflective as the perfectly straight teeth shown by her discomforting shark-like smile. Her scaleskin-pattern boots are laced all the way up to her mid-thigh, and she has a formal black blazer buttoned up over her torso. Behind her, Takada lurks just far enough away to avoid the spotlight, clad in a typically immaculate 3-piece suit and holding a tablet computer under one arm.

'I know when to talk, and I know when to touch...
No-one ever died from wanting too much...'

As they reach the ringside area, Veronica stops and clasps her hands behind her back, letting Takada sweep past her. He approaches a nearby security guard and, gripping the man by his shirt, drags him over to the ring skirting and forces him down to his hands and knees. Veronica then approaches and, taking one of Takada's hands for balance, digs her heel into the guard's back and uses him as a human step to ascend to the apron. There she unbuttons and casts off her blazer, revealing an intricate multi-buckled bathing suit variation and leather opera gloves, leaving Takada to catch the blazer and neatly fold it over his arm.

'The world is not enough! But it is such a perfect place,
To start, my love...
And if you're strong enough,
Together we can take the world apart, my love...'

Finally stepping into the ring proper, Veronica idly turns a full rotation, eyes shut blissfully, before stopping in the center of the mat and stooping into a theatrical bow - just as two large violet banners unfurl from the ceiling, each bearing a double-V insignia with a razor edge. They remain there as Veronica straightens, sweeps her hair back, and lounges into one of the corners, only beginning to roll themselves up when her music finally fades and Takada takes up his position close - but not too close - to his boss' chosen corner.

(MOVESET)
Style: Technical/Submission/Cheater
15-20 Standard Moves:

  • Bionic Elbow
  • Chop Block
  • Long-ass Chinlock (the Orton special!)
  • Northern Lights Suplex (bridge optional)
  • Russian Leg Sweep
  • Single-leg Boston Crab
  • Fujiwara Armbar
  • Trapping Elbow Strikes on grounded opponent
  • Swinging Neckbreaker
  • Diving Reverse DDT
  • High Dropkick
  • Backslide Pin
  • Hair-pull Takedown
  • Snake Eyes
  • Back Suplex
  • 2nd-rope Superplex

Preferred Counter Style: ...Amateur? I don't know, whichever one means 'clever'. Her intelligence is her best quality.
Three Trademark Moves:

  • Mile High Club: Released Pump-Handle Suplex - i.e. starts like a Pump-Handle Slam, but then Veronica throws herself onto her back, throwing the opponent overhead like a Fallaway Slam.
  • Code Veronica: Dragon Sleeper on seated opponent, usually rolled over so Veronica sits on their back a la Camel Clutch midway. Submission hold.
  • Brought to Heel: Veronica catches one of her opponent's arms in a Hammerlock then uses a sharp kick to the shin to bring them down to their knees. She then plants one foot firmly on the back of the opponent's neck and pushes down while pulling the twisted arm upward. Submission hold.

Finishing Move(s):

  • Budget Cutter: From behind opponent, places both hands on their shoulders, kicks off the ground and essentially pulls a brief handstand on top of them before falling to the front, shifting grip to catch their head on the way down and drop them with an elevated Diamond Cutter neckbreaker.
  • Market Crash: Big match finish. With her opponent forced into the corner, Veronica will lift them up to sit on the turnbuckle in the typical Superplex starting position, before slipping through the ropes and getting up on the corner behind them. She then grips the opponent in a Full Nelson hold, pulls them to their feet, and jumps back down to the ring, tucking her legs up to her chest midway, so that the opponent lands face-first with all of Veronica's weight driven down onto their spine through the points of her knees.
