Ok Foods For Gerbils : Fruits (In Small Amounts!): Apple (no seeds) Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) Pomegranates Grapes Plum Peaches Tomato Orange (one small sac of juice, if your gerbils will even touch it) Currants Vegetables & Plants (In Small Amounts!): Broccoli Carrots Peas Cauliflower leaves and stalks Cucumber Bell peppers Lettuce - small amounts occasionally - in excess it can cause liver problems Brussels sprouts Spinach Green beans Celery Parsley - a good tonic Chickweed Starches (In Small Amounts!): Biscuits Cooked potatoes Bread (fresh or stale) Breakfast Cereals (low fat, no sugar added varieties) Toast Corn Pretzels –small amounts of low-sodium (salt) variety Whole (rolled) oats Kashi cereal Proteins (In Small Amounts!): Cheese (small amounts occasionally as fattening) Dog Biscuits Egg (scrambled or boiled) Mealworms Alfalfa Kashi cereal Crickets Waxworms Sprouted beans/seeds, like aduki, alfalfa, chickpea, or mung bean sprouts (washed thoroughly, and avoid sprouted kidney beans) Sweet Treats (In VERY Small Amounts!): Raisins (unsulphured) Dried apricots (unsulphured) Dried berries (unsulphured) Other dried fruits (unsulphured) Sultanas Fattening Treats (In VERY Small Amounts!): (Choose nuts that aren't salted, roasted, or have skins.) Peanuts Sunflower Seeds Walnuts (slightly crack the shells and make the gerbils work to get at the meat!)
